Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport has two terminals. At Terminal 1 - Lindbergh, there are two belt driven trams to get passengers from different ends of the airport. Both are rare trains manufactured by the Poma-Otis company, which doesn't exist anymore. There is one pre security that is underground and takes you from the Blue, Red, Silver ramps and Metro Transit Light Rail station. The other one is post security and is outside, exposed to the elements. This one goes along the eastern side of the post security area taking travelers along the C concourse to access Concourses A, B, C, D, Baggage Claim, and more! Each tram consists of two cars with two doors on each side. There are normally two trams in operation on a single day, and both run on a single track. Due to this, the train going southbound actually goes around the northbound train to avoid collision! The tram is very convenient and fun to ride when you have time to kill! This video consists of a round trip ride on this post security tram. This footage turned out a lot better than I expected it too, so I hope you enjoy!
There are many times throughout the video where the tram announcements are hard to hear. I decided to make Closed Captions/Subtitles available for this reason. I highly suggest using them if you'd like to be able to understand the train announcements.
Please use the following timestamps if you'd like to navigate around the video:
0:00 Ride from Baggage Claim/Airport Mall station to Concourse A&B station.
4:39 Ride from Concourse A&B station to Baggage Claim/Airport Mall station.
10:00 Ride from Baggage Claim/Airport Mall station to Midway Concourse C/Concourse G Skyway station.

Great video! Looks like a very cool train. I didn't even know the Minneapolis/ St Paul Airport had an Automated Transit System until now. And I'm definitely riding it if I ever go to MSP.
So amazing
Thanks!
@@Skivator You're Welcome!
This is awesome!
Thanks!
Really nice!
Thank you!
Who knew Otis was involved in tram manufacture? These look pretty neat. I’m kinda curious though, how exactly are these belt-driven?
Giant motor at one ends moves the cars like a traction elevator. It’s cool!
This may be wrong, as it’s probably more complex XD
That's basically how it works (though they're just normal steel lift cables, not belts). This is one of their more simple systems, others can get kinda complicated. The other tram at MSP for example actually hovers like an air hockey table!
@tkefan29 Here I thought floating trains wouldn’t come until far into the future. Dude that’s so cool!
@@tkefan29 That one is roped as well lol
Same train as in DTW!
Cool!
Slightly different
So few people though... I'm guessing this was shot a while back?
Nope, shot on 6/19/2021
