Ah Seph love your reaction on this song - you could see the chemistry between Elvis and Ann. They were filming in the gym as Rusty (Ann's character name) teaches dancing (and swimming lessons) and they were her students in the scene - she agreed to meet Lucky (Elvis's character) there and spend the day together. Didn't realise that there were so many songs recorded for this film but unfortunately a lot got dropped for whatever reason.

There is a videoclip that is a little longer, where you can actually see how they have a conversation around him not being able to paricipate in whatever it was ,and she urged him to at least sing , because the students had been waiting for him .
In this movie ,there also is a song named ”Santa Lucia ”, I love that so much . Please react to that . 🙏 He sings it in Italian 😍 ( it is originally from Italy ) We celebrate this here in Sweden with a ceremony on Dec. 13th, really lovely with all the candles in the dark . For us it represents the coming of the light when it is very dark . here . I don’t know if the song choice had anything to do with Ann-Margret being from Sweden.

Thanks Seph, loved it.

Today, Tomorrow,, and Forever: That's one of my favorite Elvis songs, just beautiful. It was written by the composer Franz Liszt original name Liebestraum, written in 1850. I hope Seph reacts to it and to Santa Lucia. Sweet, tender crooner Elvis for Today, Tomorrow & Forever, and operatic Elvis for Santa Lucia. Love me some of both, in addition to every other genre that Elvis performed superbly.

You have to search for You're the Boss. It wasn't used in the film. I read they considered it too risque for public consumption at the time. The lyrics are definitely pretty "naughty." In fact, I think it wasn't released until something like 1992? However, it was recorded in the timeline you're following, so hope you're able to review it Seph though it might make you blush.

Okay now I found this short article about Joy Byers: Joy Byers is credited with writing or co-writing the following songs that Elvis Presley recorded. However in recent years, her [We would have to assume now ex husband!!!] Bob Johnston has claimed that songs still credited to his wife Joy Byers were actually co-written, or solely written by himself. He has cited old 'contractual reasons' for this situation. The songs in question include Timi Yuro's 1962 hit 'What's A Matter Baby', plus at least 16 songs for Elvis Presley's films between 1964 and 1968, including 'It Hurts Me', 'Let Yourself Go' and 'Stop, Look and Listen'. Two songs credited to Byers, the aforementioned 'Stop, Look and Listen' and 'Yeah, She's Evil!' were recorded by Bill Haley & His Comets before being used by Elvis (the latter song was retitled 'The Meanest Girl in Town' when Presley recorded it). Elvis Presley recorded 'The Meanest Girl in Town' on June 10, 1964, while Bill Haley recorded his version a week later, on June 16, 1964.
Joy stated in an interview featured in the book, Writing For The King, 'It's a thrill to have had a bunch of Songs recorded by Elvis. Can you imagine lucking into something like that? I was a Fifties Housewife, living in a lower, Middle Class Neighbourhood, and next thing you know I'm writing Songs for Elvis Presley. I was thrilled, just thrilled'.
Baby If You'll Give Me All Your Love
    C'mon Everybody
    Goin' Home
    Hard Knocks
    Hey, Hey, Hey
I've Got To Find My Baby
    Please Don't Stop Loving Me
    She's A Machine
So Close, Yet So Far (From Paradise)
    Stop, Look And Listen
    The Meanest Girl In Town
There's A Brand New Day On The Horizon
There Ain't Nothing Like A Song
It Hurts Me [Although Joy does say that Charlie Daniels wrote nearly all of it]
    Let Yourself Go
    * I will provide a more in- depth bio on Joy Byers at Seph's next reaction to one of the songs she may or may not have written for Elvis. More research into this matter on my part is needed *
Okay now getting into what Elvis was wearing; the following is pulled from yet a different article I found:
Devore’s threads made those cats the epitome of 1960s cool,” wrote Alison Martino - whose famous father Al was also a Devore customer - for Los Angeles Magazine in August 2015. “There were sharkskin suits lined in paisley silk, sports coats, pastel sweaters, skinny ties, dress shirts, and trousers with big belt loops, all finished with an impeccable fit.” Given Devore’s reputation for both specialty and quality, it’s no surprise that he also earned Elvis’ patronage. “Elvis Presley shopped at Devore’s off the rack, picking out 20 suits at a time at $350 a pop.”
Just four years after the Rat Pack sported Sy Devore’s sleek suits for their Las Vegas takeover, Elvis Presley outfitted himself in Sy Devore duds for his own venture into the city of lost wages.
All of Presley’s wardrobe throughout Viva Las Vegas is distinctive to the artist’s personal tastes, from the gray sharkskin shawl-collar suit to the short bolero-style jackets he wears for many of the film’s dance numbers. One particular standout suit is the sporty beige suit worn first for this dance number with Ann-Margret’s Rusty Martin in the UNLV gymnasium.
Likely constructed from a linen blend suiting, this suit’s most obvious unique detailing that should jump out to viewers is the lack of lapels or collar.
The same week that the boys from Liverpool put out their first British EP, Please Please Me, Elvis Presley took delivery on his Sy Devore suits and jackets that would appear in Viva Las Vegas. At least two of these beige collarless jackets were made, and the date printed on the tag is July 10, 1963 - just before production began in Las Vegas - as seen on this Graceland Auctions listing.
The jacket from this suit, referred to as “bone-colored” in the auction description, was auctioned in Memphis during Elvis Week in August 2015 but did not attract a high enough offer, according to the Brainerd Dispatch. The Elvis Blog expands on this story, adding that, oddly, the auctioneer stopped the bidding at $28,000 when it was $2,000 shy of its goal.
The ventless jacket has three brown horn buttons on the front and three on each cuff. Standing at 6’0″ tall and still maintaining his lean physique, Elvis benefitted from the visual balance of three buttons of this suit, especially without lapels.
As part of a considerably casual suit, the jacket has less formal patch pockets: one on the left breast and one on each hip. The seams around the edges of the pockets also add a degree of visual complexity that breaks up the potential monotony of a collarless jacket.
Elvis sticks with his warm, desert-evoking color palette by wearing a sunny yellow shirt with his sandy beige suit. The cotton shirt has a button-down collar, a plain (placket-less) front, and single-button cuffs, all fastened with mother-of-pearl buttons.
The suit has matching flat front trousers with a medium-high rise that harmonizes with the jacket by rising to Elvis’ waist, where the trouser waistband meets the center button of the suit jacket.
When Lucky removes the jacket for parts of his date with Rusty, the trousers’ buckle-tab side adjusters and side pockets are better seen. The trousers taper through the legs down to plain-hemmed bottoms.
With the exception of black patent leather shoes he wears for a stage performance, Elvis’ default footwear throughout Viva Las Vegas is a pair of black suede Chelsea boots with black elastic side gussets, which appear to be worn with black socks.
Aaannndddd that is IT! Ahhh... Really, Seph... Ah, well... My Mama always said that having an inquisitive mind was a sign of higher intelligence.
So you being inquisitive is very cool 😎💙👌
I still say you work for M16 though :D
