This is unfortunate! My Longshot model now has a noticeably cracked plunger tube! It doesn't perform well anymore! It must've had a small crack from the start, but I can't be sure! If you can, check the plunger tube before buying!!!
I hope they can get the plunger tube issues sorted (might simply need better packaging for shipping). The response from the modding community has been great, though, and there are already poly and metal plunger tube replacements available. I dropped a metal plunger tube in mine and it's been rock solid.
unfortunately this is a known issue its the first thing to go thankfully you can 3d print one or find someone that has a fdm resin pint one for you for example pcb way im most likely going to desin a replacement plunger rod when mine breaks there is also 3d printable mag adapter
We really need gameplay with this blaster, your review is absolutely awesome! It goes through all the awesome features that the gun has and you actually talked about the slam fire and also used it!
this blaster is really fantastic because it includes so many cool features and great performance for such a low price. I recently purchased some upgrade parts for my Stryker (skinny pusher, slop remover, SCAR barrel, and vertical foregrip), so I’m probably not picking one of these up, but it is a very good blaster that I’m sure a lot of people will like.
Thanks for the review. You are right on the money with your performance concerns, my Longshot has the same FPS spread. Upgrading is so easy, take out three screws and you can replace the spring with anything that will work in a Talon Claw. Replacing the barrel takes a little more work but is worth the time. I upgraded a second Longshot and consistantly shoot over 200FPS.
Part of me is stoked because its their first pro blaster and it's a bullpup and even has a really cool thumb short dart mag release. They're doing something interesting right out of the gate and cannot wait to see where they go from here. I might be partially biased since my first favorite primary that I still use all the time is my Lynx.
Greetings from the UK and many thanks for a most informative and entertaining review. I share your enthusiasm for the blaster as I've recently purchased one and extremely impressed - even though its UK price is the equivalent of $45 US. From the reviews I've watched it seems that cracked plunger tubes even on brand new blasters isn't uncommon. Before purchasing I checked 1 instore and the plunger tube was indeed cracked. The second blaster was absolutely fine but I agree with you that checking the Longshot for defects before purchasing is highly recommended. I've also read comments suggesting that, because the plunger tube is made from thin plastic, it might wear out quite quickly. As might be expected, however, aluminium plunger tubes are quite readily available for repair purposes. All the very best and i look forward to watching more of your videos. Allan Woolston
I’ve always liked that your reviews are entirely first person! In my experience , the rifling does absolutely nothing because it doesn’t actually touch the dart. I can’t believe how blatantly and poorly they ripped off the worker injection molded scar. But bright side is you can swap that one in and it fits! Better accuracy with it once modded too.
By all accounts, it's pretty amazing, especially at that price point. Looking forward to picking one up soon once they are in my area. Thank you for the video. Take care.
Got this Blaster...a couple of days ago....and it's Amazing ( was worried about getting a cracked plunger tube) but mine was fine....😁👍....couldn't be happier 💥💥💥🔫🤠
@@foamquestvery common. It looks to be a shipping issue though. You can spin the plunger tube in the packaging to see if it is cracked before you buy it though.
Ordered mine last night, cant wait! Hopefully the plunger tube makes it until next pay when i can get a barrel, tube, and spring 😂 but its my only pro grade mod other than my nexus. My stryker snapped at the buffer tube, first pro grade blaster, i removed the breech lock and left it stock. I think the kids dry fired with the prime back😭😭😭 im newish to the hobby and my income is tight, im excited to see what i can make of this thing, if it holds up. If not, its 30 bucks. Definitely worth it. Its a bullpup, if not at that price point it would be the perfect "babys first pro grade to break when you first start modding.
I think I will leave mine in stock form and set up for full darts assuming it qualifies for HVZ. So far it seems very accurate for a blaster hitting around 125.
The more I play with mine, the more I'm loving it. For the PRICE, it's a monster. AND it's available in the UK, which we dont get from AF. And with a very simple upgrade, (like an additional STOCK retal spring in mine), it'll clear 190 fps easily. £35 gbp and a spring. Cant beat that.
If your looking for more power I found out the spring in the max dictator is a great option although it is a stronger prime you’ll definitely see the improvements
Cool video! 1. Do you know how/where I can get that new spring and new barrel to get it up to 200 fps? 2. Where can I get those ruby bullets where you had an average of 156 fps with? Thank you!
Thanks! So, the Ruby darts can be found on Target or Target.com! The right spring should be up on the Out of Darts website, but I don't have the specific listing. Let me check for it! :)
Okay, so on the Out of Dart website, I'm pretty sure a standard k25 spring should get you up to 200. But, if you do go down this route I'd definitely recommend picking up an aluminum plunger tube as well! Also, if you want even more power, I've heard great things about installing a 45 cm aluminum barrel!
@rareslk4635 The blaster comes with it, actually! Most all standard size half darts are fully cross compatible in the hobby! :) Are you newer to Nerf? What blasters (if any) do you have so far? Please feel free to ask me any more questions you might have!
For a 30 dollar price it is probably the best you can get and you can easily mod it mods are like 20 dollars for mods that reach 250 fps I believe it could be a bit better on the plastic quality but it’s x shot I have not experienced any jams on mine so far but time will tell
@@foamquest kinda, I'll have to take a video; almost like it was feeding a dart and a half. I jammed 5-6 darts inside the barrel before I realized what was wrong :( The darts came out in pieces, now I'm afraid to shoot them too fast. No problem with the long darts whatsoever.
@Blindsushi I've never encountered an issue like this. Do you have any other half length darts or magazines besides what came with the blaster, for troubleshooting purposes? If not, maybe a video (like you were saying) showing the issue would be insightful

The long shot is a piece of junk. The long darts jam and every other short dart shoots feet

Just buy a aluminum or braz pipe and cut it xD change orings to tighter and that's it

Awesome!!! How's slamfire with the configuration you're using?
@@foamquest slam fire works great in both blasters, but I prefer single shots for the accuracy.
a Metal PT would help with FPS consistency, i got mine from here!

I was wondering about the effectiveness of that scar barrel! I guess it's not a big deal to throw in a Worker or DZP one!

I couldn't agree more! It does SO MUCH right!
I modded mine to hit 300 fps. It's very hard to prime, but it works, and it only cost about $200 to get it there.

The small darts that come with it keep jamming.
Hmm, just the half darts? Weird
