When he came to the part about his wife, it really clicked because a lot of muslims even those who are not religious recite ayatul kursi from memorizing it as children... even if we only know a few more Surahs and nothing else! I believed in ayatul Kursi very strongly a even when I didn't pray and I believe it protected me from sooo many situations by Allah

Many points they mentioned is what I have thought myself too. The effects of watching movies, listening to songs etc are much more powerful (negatively) than we think. It can lead you to worse things. Unless you are consciously aware, you will find yourself normalising/desensitising things which shouldn’t be.

The way this brother feels is just like me, masha'Allah. If we have an ounce of sincerity to Allah, we are able to discern, point out that something is wrong and that we truly don't belong with the super wealthy, or striking emotion and thought when seeing the poor or people that use drugs.

Reminds me of this Hadith… Zayd in Thabit reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever is concerned about the world, Allah will disorder his affairs, make poverty appear before his eyes, he will not get anything from the world but what has been decreed for him. Whoever is concerned about the Hereafter, Allah will settle his affairs, make him content in his heart, the world will come to him although he reluctant is for it. Fascinating. I sensed media and marketing pushes an dark agenda that's so subtle it's hardly perceptible but it's steady and continual like white noise. It creeps into your consciousness without you being aware. I tried to communicated this to my adult child about all the so called "reality" shows she was binging and some popular movies she viewed but she didn't believe it. What he said about rappers is very true. Some of the rap from the 90s had lyrical flow that is beyond poetry in meaning and verse and sophistication. Absolute mastery of language. And then when the same rappers give an interview they can barely string three words together into a coherent sentence. Its just a bunch of nothing with "youknowwhatamsayin?" Almost as if the lyrics are coming from somewhere else.

Yeah precautions are good but really, the jinn and enemies of Islam are weaker than they seem. Allah is infinitely stronger than both. For example, the sister in the video said ayat al kursi and she was protected from the jinn. Ibn Abbas reported: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he said to me, “Young man, I will teach you some words. Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you. If you ask, ask from Allah. If you seek help, seek help from Allah. Know that if the nations gathered together to benefit you, they could not benefit you unless Allah has decreed it for you. I first found him and his wife on tik tok and started following them on Insta as well. About maybe a year or so ago, they both deleted most of their content and I hadn’t really seen much for a while and more recently, I saw this brothers post about islam. I don’t know them at all but it brought me joy that he was outwardly becoming more religious, Alhumdullilah! When he came to the part about his wife, it really clicked because a lot of muslims even those who are not religious recite ayatul kursi from memorizing it as children... even if we only know a few more Surahs and nothing else!

Many points they mentioned is what I have thought myself too. The effects of watching movies, listening to songs etc are much more powerful (negatively) than we think. It can lead you to worse things. Unless you are consciously aware, you will find yourself normalising/desensitising things which shouldn’t be.
Even if you tried you can never be aware and it will always effect you negatively tbh

No matter how much you are consciously aware, action movies will desensitise you to violence. Same like this other genres work too.

The way this brother feels is just like me, masha'Allah. If we have an ounce of sincerity to Allah, we are able to discern, point out that something is wrong and that we truly don't belong with the super wealthy, or striking emotion and thought when seeing the poor or people that use drugs.

Fascinating. I sensed media and marketing pushes an dark agenda that's so subtle it's hardly perceptible but it's steady and continual like white noise. It creeps into your consciousness without you being aware. I tried to communicated this to my adult child about all the so called "reality" shows she was binging and some popular movies she viewed but she didn't believe it. Unfortunately it permeates our lives.

What he said about rappers is very true. Some of the rap from the 90s had lyrical flow that is beyond poetry in meaning and verse and sophistication. Absolute mastery of language. And then when the same rappers give an interview they can barely string three words together into a coherent sentence. Its just a bunch of nothing with "youknowwhatamsayin?" Almost as if the lyrics are coming from somewhere else.

Yeah precautions are good but really, the jinn and enemies of Islam are weaker than they seem. Allah is infinitely stronger than both. For example, the sister in the video said ayat al kursi and she was protected from the jinn.

I first found him and his wife on tik tok and started following them on Insta as well. About maybe a year or so ago, they both deleted most of their content and I hadn’t really seen much for a while and more recently, I saw this brothers post about islam. I don’t know them at all but it brought me joy that he was outwardly becoming more religious, Alhumdullilah! If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
52The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”
53Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58This is the bread which came down from heaven-not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”
