    In this video I demonstrate how I go about using my new laser measure from Huepar in a variety of situations. Just for clarity, this measure was gifted to me from Huepar for the purposes of a review, although I am under no obligation to say anything favourable nor am I paid for this video. I do have an affiliated link below though for Huepar so if you choose to purchase a Huepar product via this link, the channel will gain a small commission.

    I use a device like that one for measuring homes for floor covering. If I measuring an entire house I like to draw it to scale for the shop that I do work for so they can better understand the customer's home when discussing flooring products.
    First thing I do is measure the length and width of a home and draw that to scale on my graph paper. Then, I start in one corner and measure all walls including the closets, the doorways etc. I measure them first to draw my room. Once the room shape is drawn, I remeasure and write down the lengths of each wall.
    In a hallway it's extremely fast to measure where each doorway is. You click one side of a doorway then the other and move on to the next doorway and click both sides of that door and the next door. I just recorded six measurements in a few seconds, so do I go back to my graph paper and put a mark at each of those six measurements. Doing this helps me decide after the fact where carpet seams will be located.
    The accuracy is incredible.
    My unit is quite similar made by AceGmet. I compared my $37 unit to an $800 Disto made by Leica, and at about 74 ft my inexpensive unit measured exactly to the 16th of an inch the same as the expensive one.
    These are so cheap that everyone should buy one because they'll discover uses for them that they hadn't thought of. You can measure over the top of furniture or areas that are too hard to reach to.
    The only drawback in most units is that it's easy to bump the button and start reading from the front of the unit instead of the back of the unit. If you do this and don't realize it all of your measurements will be off by about 4 in. I'd prefer the button be recessed or that you'd have to press two different buttons at the same time to change from front to back measuring.
    I don't know if this Huepar can be accidentally switched from front to back like the one that I own.
    I'm hoping you convince a lot of people to buy one of these because they will love it.

    I paid £70 for one of these over 30 years ago and it is still working on the same internal battery, it made measuring rooms for cornice when I was pricing (not cutting) very quick especially in very big rooms, stand in one corner and take 2 measurements and it was done, well worth having.

    Nice one fella. You demonstrated how much sense they make really well. I've got a Bosch one (probably no surprise there hehe). Was a constant companion for site work but have found it just as useful in the workshop - even at the timber merchants, using it to calculate cubic feet! The moans about accuracy? Take 'em with a pinch of salt. They're deadly accurate. The main thing is to, as far as is possible, keeping it steady when you hit the measure button. Mine I can link to my phone app so I don't need to physically touch the thing. Just place it and use the phone to take measurements, nice and steady. Also, I imagine yours, like mine, will have a calibration function covered in the manual. Once a year for that and it'll be grand.

    Hi Gerard Bluett here from Ireland , I have to say your videos are most enjoyable and very helpful. I have just watched your review on the Heuper Laser Measure and I decided that I would buy one . It cost me 50 euros inc VAT postage for the 50 metre version ( Amazon.de ) . My eye sight is not the best and I am driven mad with tape measures trying to read them from a distance and rechecking so many times and still not sure at the end of it all. We just have to try different things to get the results .Thank-you so much .

    Hi. you said that you are going to mount your IP camera at a height of 3 meters. That was my idea too until I spoke to a police officer who looks at those images every day. He told me that if he saves the images in the cloud or indoors, you should hang it at a height of 1 meter, otherwise you will only see hoodies.

I will do a side by side check to see if there is any difference when I get it and also check with a tape measure which I hadn't thought to do before. Even with two arms ideas to do things with one are very often extremely useful so thanks Leo for your stream of ideas and wrinkles. Mike

      NOT GOOD! Checking three measuring tapes of various ages against an allegedly accurate steel ruler I found differences of up to 3mm over 1 M. Checking my existing laser measure (actually measure with ultrasound but uses a laser to locate the point to which you are measuring as I suspect yours does as well) I found it varied by up to 5mm over a 4M distance when held against the tape measure. I will check the Huepar when it arrives and if it's a lot better I may order another and ditch my old one. Between two joists the tape measures 410mm and the " laser" 424 mm!

    Hi mate, good review. I have a 100 version, but I noticed that the laser beam aims quite high when the device is on its back on the flat surface, the laser projects 20 mm higher over distance of 1.5 m. On the device the laser beam seats at about 15mm but over distance of 1.5m it aims at 35 mm. I am a cabinet maker and sometimes I can not take measurements because it doesn't project a parallel line with its back and I am missing my target. Can you check if yours does the same, please? thanks in advance

    • @Hand-i-Craft
      @Hand-i-Craft  11 месяцев назад

      Cheers for the message pal. By the sounds of it I’d get in touch with the manufacturer, don’t appear to have that issue myself. Could be the laser is slightly misaligned in the housing and that would obviously worsen over distance 👍

    • @borzhommm
      @borzhommm 11 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the reply. Funny enough I had already got in touch with them before posting the comment and they sent me some photos taken at their tech department where similar laser was used and it had the same issue as mine. They did not considered it to be an issue though, like it is normal in their opinion. So they sent me a replacement unit which unfortunately has exactly the same problem. Maybe the housings on lm100a have faults in them @@Hand-i-Craft

      Good question Lewis. It is a decent plastic casing (not rubber, but a 'rubbery' feel to it) so it seems fairly robust. One point to note, I dropped it off the scaffold and didn't cause any issues so should be fine in the toolbox. It does come with a fabric case as well 👍
