As his goal demonstrated, Bellingham simply imposes himself in certain games and can decide games by sheer will. I struggle to find a player like him historically, because he’s not really going to fully control games like Scholes, Gerrard etc, he’s not really a CDM either. But he does a bit of them all in addition to his box to box prowess. I say keep going with it if it’s not broken. Foden seems to need that city like system to thrive. Regardless, Great players always find a way to play & win together. This is controversial but I have a feeling it was a bad idea to leave Rashford out. His pace would have been really important especially in finishing games, the threat of him running behind defenders would keep most teams playing more conservative football. As his goal demonstrated, Bellingham simply imposes himself in certain games and can decide games by sheer will. I struggle to find a player like him historically, because he’s not really going to fully control games like Scholes, Gerrard etc, he’s not really a CDM either.
But he does a bit of them all in addition to his box to box prowess. I say keep going with it if it’s not broken. Foden seems to need that city like system to thrive.
