Thanks! I like watching people do home improvement too. I'm a huge tv house renovation fan. It's not quite a fun when you have to do all the work and figure out all the problems though. haha
You're videos are really great. You explain so well. This shower series has been so much fun to watch. I'm very excited to see it complete! Keep up the great work.
Great job. Schluter makes a water barrier product (orange mesh) that you put up before you tile. Using this will ensure you will never have to worry about water penetration. It comes in a roll. You can find it in the tile department at the big box store.
It's great that you have overcome most of the problems now. What kind of board do you use for the walls? Cement board? Can you mention the brand? I'd like to see of something similar is here for sale. I'm curious what you'll put on top of them.
Great progress. Like the comment at 14:28 or so... "Left an eighth of an inch in case the house moves" lol. Using the orange waterproofing tile membrane stuff? I used this for a repair in my tub/shower and found it very easy to apply.
I thought about using it, but we're going to try Redgard, a waterproofing that you can brush & roll on. If I do another bath somewhere else in the future, I want to try the orange membrane.
Those things have powered through a total house renovation, plus countless furniture flips. They're ugly and gross, but I might have to keep one and frame it when they finally blow out. haha
A couple of years ago, I made a RUclips channel with several videos dedicated to doing simple tasks while wearing them. lol I might have to make some more to put on there. ruclips.net/video/iZqnFr0JJRA/видео.html
This series is the best! I love seeing people conquer home improvement.

The plumbing inspector needed to come out first!!! LOL! Great job!!!
Loving it, i look forward sitting down every evening to watch this!
An unbelievable amount of work but very interesting to watch!
My "to-do" list for this project is deceptively short. The "work that actually needs to be done" list just keeps on going.

I was considering using it, but we decided to try out RedGard. If I ever do another bath somewhere else, I want to give that a try.
