Bro, reading the first half made me tear up. That is basically the life I'm living in the last 8 months. Intermittent fasting with keto meals did a wonder on me... I am still on my Biologics (Entyvio) but ever since I changed my diet, things got better. Way better. Anyway, take care and stay healthy.👍
This has been experience and i'm currently dealing with my first flare up at 26. Still not diagnosed but my mom has history of it and all the doctors are giving me the same look (not good). I was putting on weight for powerlifting and went heavy on meal replacements and protein shakes. Plus eating constantly 8+ times perday. Two meal replacements and 1 or 2 protein shakes a day for like 3 months. I went from 158 lbs to 192 lbs from february of this year to August 17th this month, and now at the top of this bulk I have completely blown out my colon apparently. Hopefully If I run a prestine diet and listen to my body I can recover and not flare up again. I'm down to 183 lbs in only 11 or so days. Never had any other issues before and i've bulked before and changed my weight drastically like that before. If you had any advice that would be great. I'm going with the whole intermittent fast thing and starting a restrictive diet with meat only and seeing what does or doesnt affect me from there.

He definitely is old school. I remember watching him in his first fight. Hes always been such smart respectful man. Definitely my favorite fighter forever.
I’ve been dealing with UC for close to 20 years, eating too much didn’t cause this illness. I grew up in a town with zero fast food joints and was active and am still active very active I run 30+ miles weekly. What he did with fasting I was told to do as well and went 5 days with zero food. Every persons system is different, he probably feels better because he’s on medications that modify his own systems response to fight itself. It’s not a fun condition to deal with, glad he’s feeling better.
Eating too much probably triggered the illness. But he was probably already genetically predisposed to it. It's an autoimmune disorder when your immune system goes "oh my God what's that" and starts attacking your colon.
Sorry to hear that, I'm battling Lupus and I know it can be disheartening to deal with chronic illness. Stay in a good place and remain active, even on those bad days.

I got an advanced form of UC, goes a decent way into my large intestine. When I flare up, I have to go straight to the hospital or risk loosing my colon and some of my large intestines.
Your colon is your large intestine/ large bowel. There just multiple parts ascending, transverse, descending, sigmoid, rectum, and eventually ending at the anus
Change your diet. Stop eating meat products and start going on a raw vegan and fruit diet. Eat nothing but melons and a load of bananas for a month and see if you feel any difference. I suffered from uc for well over 10 years and decided to change my diet. Haven't had a flair up in over 5 years. For the 1st month I ate nothing but bananas which I made into smoothies using nothing but water and bananas, also ate alot of melons and different fruits, juiced alot of apples and celery and ate boiled veggies and started to see a real difference. My stools were formed and had no blood. After 2 months of being on that diet and feeling much better I was able to eat different vegan meals that were spicy etc but never went back to eating meat or dairy. Give it a try, cant be any worse then taking all the useless drugs the doctors give you. I stopped listening to what they said after they kept telling me that it has nothing to do with diet but have no idea what actually causes it, just take a load of the drugs we give you, which actually made me worse and if that doesn't work we'll take out your colon and even after that you may not get better, they're absolutely clueless when it comes to uc.
Enormous respect for GSP after hearing this. I've had colitis for 10 years now - it's brutal. Knocks you on your arse when you're having a flare up, so for him to fight with it is impressive. I've tried everything with colitis, including fasting and cutting certain foods out, nothing seems to work. Always comes back. Horrible, incurable disease.
@@JJ-vp3bd Ever had a stomach flu where you are shitting water for a couple of days? It is basically the same but instead of it just lasting a day or two it gets worse, and worse, and worse. You’ll be shitting water 10-20 times a day, when it gets bad you can’t hold it and you have 5 seconds to get to the bathroom before you shit yourself. And this is day and night, you don’t get sleep breaks. Because you are shitting nothing but water you are getting dehydrated, you can’t absorb food so you’ll have no energy and lose tons of weight very quickly once you run out of reserves. You can lose tons of blood to the point where you’ll need a blood transfusion. Oh and don’t forget the worst stomach cramps you can imagine all day and night. I got an advanced form of UC, goes a decent way into my large intestine. When I flare up, I have to go straight to the hospital or risk loosing my colon and some of my large intestines.
daFlyingPotato I’m sorry about that I have it too it not serious
I have it really bad too but bro... your colon IS your large intestine. You have one large intestine. Colon is just another name for large intestine.
The colon is the main part of the large intestines. Not the entire thing.
Horrible, incurable disease.
what does a flare up feel like?
R J period and food poisoning combo lasting anywhere from a few days to over a year
@@JJ-vp3bd Ever had a stomach flu where you are shitting water for a couple of days?
It is literally like something wants to claw out through your stomach Alien style (that was actually the inspiration).
How are you doing now?
@@JJ-vp3bd bloated, cramps, uncomfortable, feeling like you need the toilet every five minutes and all that comes out is blood and mucus. Weight loss and energy loss.
Basically like the worst diarrhea ever plus blood and pain.
GSP is the king of MMA!
I'm surprised he didn't think that there was an alien in his belly.
Like this man, what a great human being.
I have ulcerative colitis!
Derek Higgs is it curable?
Mathew R depends on how bad it is. If it is advanced enough. No.
If your UC is only in your colon, you can have your colon removed. You may still technically still have it, but it will not bother you anymore.
You will have a colostomy bag, but you will not have to deal with the fact your colon is randomly in pain.
It's hell
Im following GSP's approach
Same. Hope it works for you.
@@curtislowe1373how is it going?
Hows it going?
I got UC last year and have a pretty similar story . Started working out really hard and force feeding myself to gain weight, to the point i would regurgitate food.. definitely not healthy and it really messed up my system... hopefully GSP brings some attention to the CCFA
Same here man, got it last year probably from bulking up and trying to gain weight.
how have you both been? any updates
The force feeding didn't cause it. The condition was probably already dormant and the force feeding triggered it.
Same here also tried bulking up for years then got UC.

Hello again
Hope your doing well. I've been doing a 36hr fast once a week but if I decided to do 48hr fast. How often should I do it????
I recently got married and every said I looked younger and was giving me compliments all day of how slim I got. Thanks for your talks
he looks like he's getting ready to make weight to fight Mcnugget.
Brian should've helped GPS out with gaining weight, he could've put him onto the mercury fillings theory
Brian should’ve helped his Global Positioning System out with gaining weight?
LOL
I’m dropping fat quick with intermittent fasting 16:8
Does it really work?
Can you explain what it is?
You only eat for a certain amount of time in a day some do 6 hours in a day , 8 hours, 10, etc. When I ate from 2pm to 10pm I lost 30lbs in 2-3 months like it was nothing. The time at which u eat at then stop at doesn't matter from what i know.
Good for you man. I can't recommend Intermittent fasting enough.
KidPersepolis yes I was 186 lbs stopped drinking and intermittent fasting! Lost 20 1bs in a month and I feel great !
De Bez Poun for' Poun!!!
No disrespect or clowning on the guy, as much as I didn't root for him during some of his fights he's still a great fighter and an even better man at heart. Give respect where respect is due
Joe you defo got to go and see about that cough chief! Its been going on a long time now man!
This is the man of a million metaphors
Joe sounds like he is DYING in this clip. When the camera is on GSP, Joe keeps clearing his throat
GSP should fight who ever wins between Connor and Kahbib
Ask gsp to go bugling bulls in September. Love ya guys. You guys’ll always be my two most influential life coaches
Ulcers suck! I've had them for years fml I'm not the toughest guy but the pain is no joke. And the extra weight is real since I'm not near the shape i used to be.
Crohns and uc is the worst pain ever I’ve had to have my large intestine removed because of it
George"0 Trash Talking Ability" St-Pierre
GSP is a straight G, but the word 'intermittent' may just be his nemesis.
Weird thing is I watched this video about a month ago, and today I was diagnosed with this.
Jordan Henderson these diseases are at an all time high and it’s because of the food industry . Stuff like this never happened 80 years ago because their food wasn’t tainted with antibiotics and steroids which kill our good bacteria in the gut and feed the bad bacteria . When the bad bacteria takes over diseases happen .
how have you been?
@@About36Greekss That's because 80 years ago people went undiagnosed and just died.
@@About36Greekss this
I fight also and this has been a very big problem because I am always tired and I started to do the fasting and it’s helped a lot. It’s crazy.
Ulcerative Colitis is an inflammation issue. Maybe Wim Hof method will help him optimize this disease. There's a guy who had crohn's disease that said it helped him a lot.
I also have colitis it's horrible
Entendre un Québécois parler en anglais sur le JRP ça fait bizzare
Amazing!
Il faut pas cacher son accent c'est beau les accent
I really need to know what diet he followed practicing intermittent fasting after getting diagnosed..
Gsp was the man and Always will be
Interesting to hear about this from such a physical freak of nature.
I am 5’9 160 8%bf and often find it difficult to eat in the morning. Anybody my size who’s trying to gain muscle do intermittent fasting ? I feel like I naturally want to eat a ton but only once or twice a day. Any thoughts or resources would be appreciated
Steriods like TRT
Damn aliens injecting GSP with weird shit🤓🤔😜👍
Here i sit. Thinking I have colitis.. I used to do intermitin fasting for about 6months all my issues went away.. I believe I need to to start back up..
It's interesting how someone like GSP trains hard yet is not hungry in the mornings. I'm the same, although obviously i'm not training at his level, but i can't eat in the morning either
What a ridiculous headline you can't have ulcerative colitis temeproairly it's a lifelong condition . He had colitis from a good issue for a brief period
I have UC and it is literally debilitating. I am a very avid outdoorsman, I live in MT and when I’m flaring up I can’t do anything, can hardly work. I just slept nine hours and it feels like I’ve been up for two weeks straight without food it’s terrible.
Yeah it is fuckin me up too....
There is hope man I’ve been significantly better since posting that comment. You can get your life back.
@@cookieman876 thats so good to hear. What would you say has made the biggest improvements?

Management first and foremost, I’m having insurance issues this year and have been unmedicated for 4 months the longest since diagnosis 7 years ago and honestly exercising, hydrating, vitamins and rest with proper like legit proper diet, this is the healthiest I’ve been it’s a little too good to be true tbh I’m just waiting for it to come back
Ulcerative Collitis can eventually lead to colon cancer.
Yeah nasty stuff
Won my first Golden Gloves during my worst flare in 2019. Most definitely the worst pain I've ever been in. I had been in remission for 3 years and today I am officially in another flare up but I'm ready for what's to come... forgot what this pain and extreme fatigue felt like.
I bet cutting weight was easy 😂
I have it diagnosed at 27 fuck this shit
Sorry to hear that brother. I'm 20 and I got positive for crohn's diease about two weeks ago. But I'm glad it was diagnosed so early I'm currently saving up too afford treatment. It's shit news but it's far better then not knowing.
Prime gsp or prime khabib who wins?
Now i get it ... Gsp wasnt abducted by aliens, actually it was doctors performing Colonoscopy ,endoscopy on him and GSP was intoxicated.

Have you tried intermittent fasting with a base of good nutrition? Like plant based?
You and me both
ulcerative colitis is a usually a gluten intolerance , according to dr wallach the nobel prize nominee

Damn so much good food has gluten. Personally stress is by far my primary trigger for UC issues, as long as I keep that in check and take mesalamine I'm fine.

I was a pro hockey player until I got ulcerative colitis. Diagnosed 20 years ago. Someone Tell George he can get a disability tax credit in Canada now. That’s gotta be worth a few hundred thousand to him.
Worldly Rider I’ve never heard of this and have had it for 4 years now
Ya just apply for it. Your doctor will sign for it. They also have a rdsp. Registered disability savings or whatever. U give them ten thousand they invest it and give u ten k . U can pt take it out for ten years though, Ask your accountant they should be on top of this sh it
Good luck with the u c. I just started a new drug besides remicade, It’s workin great. I’m 41 strong as fuck and my dicks workin overtime. Sh it a few times in the Kirin got and that’s it
I gotta ask my tax man if this is available where I live in the US because I’ve had to quit jobs due to months in a flare up and was buying groceries from the change built up in a cup on my dresser.
