Amazing, Margaret!!! Nice to know you saw all of this unfolding in your time. I enjoyed this tour so much and it truly humbles me. Thank you for sharing. :)
Take Bus 81 to Tarxien. If you stay in Valletta, buses are stationed just outside the City Gate of Valletta by the Tritons’ Fountain. A very busy area that's easy to spot. Look for Bay A6 and wait for the bus. Other buses 84 and 85 also go to Tarxien and Paola. www.publictransport.com.mt/en/route/81 Expand/collapse info route by clicking on (+)/(-) Hope this helps
Yes, Hypogeum is practically a backstreet away from Tarxien, about 0.2 mile. Tickets were all sold out at the time of our visit. Obviously, a very popular tourist attraction. Better get your ticket online in advance, like a month ahead of time. Also, don't know if you can or even allowed to take pictures. heritagemalta.mt/explore/hal-saflieni-hypogeum/
@@mariebrown9415 If you are staying at least 7 days in Malta, then it's wise to get the 7-d Tallinja card which you can buy at Malta Public Transportation MPT booth in the Arrivals area for $21. Be aware that staff can be grouchy since they deal with so many tourists everyday asking for the same questions. Get your Ignore Button ready. Hope this helps
Tarxien Temples are indeed located in the town of Tarxien, and not Paola. The two towns are very close to each other. The temples are easily accessible from Paola, making it convenient to visit both locations. Thank you for the clarification. :)
Lived in Paola in the early sixties before it had been discovered. It was a shop where I used to get my groceries.

Lived in Paola in the early sixties before it had been discovered? The Tarxien temples were discovered in 1914.

Thank you for such helpful info. I hope to get the bus pass at the airport and use the busses and water ferries.

Bus looks like a good way to get around. Did you experience the earthquake/ tremors? Buildings ok?
Tarxien temples are in Tarxien and not in paola.
