People don't understand how incredible skateboarding is and the amount of insane talent out there. I've been skating for twelve years and I still see new tricks being done everyday and it still blows my mind how incredible some people can be on a piece of wood
This is what people need to understand. They think of skateboarders as no good trouble making punks. Yes I get some younger teen skaters can get into trouble sometimes.. but skateboarding is a community full of amazing talented and really friendly people. We are just outsiders that are doing what we love to do. Don't hate. Skate. And the young skater to look out for question is impossible to answer. There is so much talent out there. Most of the best skaters on earth are completely unknown to the public eye. Since that's an issue and there are so many differant types and styles of skating it just can't be answered with 1 name
Late reply, but here goes: I find the idea of skateboarders as trouble making punks comes from the fact *some* trouble making punks ride skateboards - *not* the other way around. If kids get into skateboarding before they get into making trouble, a large percentage of them turn out fine.
I'll never forget Tony Hawk Pro Skater for PS1...dope game.
Neither for the Tony Hawk Underground games; The first and second for the PS2.

"Are there minority skaters?" What a dopey question.
Just as dumb as asking if there are blonde haired skaters. Or left handed skaters.
