    Products are hitting the market at such a crazy rate that the “big” companies are increasing prices and features are falling by the side. Tons of good stuff out there, this ain’t it. Respect to Haley, certainly has good stuff. But I just don’t see the “years of R&D” to come up with this.

    I was going to buy this and then I looked at the price and I got a SPC with AXL shoulder pads and equinox cummerbund. Fits my roll of a non harness plate carrier perfectly. My buddy got this months after me and feels completely burned by haley strategic.he spent $620 bucks on just a kitted out plate carrier and it’s so uncomfortable. This honestly should be $300 max in the most expensive configurations. He trashed the shoulder pads and cummerbund already($175)

    I bought one when they first came out. I was not that impressed. Especially for the price. I think the Defense Mechanism MEPC is a better minimalist carrier. That being said, I do like the MOLLE cummerbund. I like that it’s a bit narrower and doesn’t pinch or interfere with my holster. Of course you must buy their proprietary side armor. The MEPC with the Haley cummerbund is pretty good.

    Haley's inserts are built around a threshold force-to-overcome retention model, which I'm really not a fan of. They have a lip that clicks over the little ridge/recess that the magwell latches onto, so it might be a bit easier to work a Pmag loose than a USGI. In my experience, stuff like KYWIs is better, where you can wiggle the mags loose if you're in an awkward body position and/or can't generate the force required to defeat the all-or-nothing system of the Haley MP2's.

    • @charlieghague

    So far I enjoy mine. I think that it is pricey for what you get, as are most Haley products, but i think that the main discomfort you had with the chicken strap was the same i had at first. Mine was too short. Especially once i put a radio inside the cummerbund and whatnot. I ended up selling the medium chicken strap i got and purchased a large after running a ferro adapt cummerbund in it for a bit.
    The larger size did definitely help with the comfort, and i haven’t felt it digging into me while using it. I’m sure it’s like shoes though where they fit some better than others based on who it was modeled around

  • @dominicbobak2920
    @dominicbobak2920 2 года назад +3

    I was using the chicken strap on a Shaw ARC v1 for a while and it was comfy but if i tried to stretch the back would detach from the Velcro. The thorax addresses this by having Velcro hook on the rear plate flap itself to keep it all retained so I’d imagine it would be ok, but the arc doesn’t have it so really flexing my back or breathing heavy the lack of Velcro on the rear of the chicken strap becomes an issue.

    Not sold on the carrier, but the placard had much wider mag compatibility than the KYWI placards, which are dedicated per mag size/type. For someone with a variety of guns, the versatility in a single placard is nice. And the front elastic is a bonus if you ever use it, and irrelevant if you don't.

    I’ve lived in this carrier for about 3 months, I run a Hayley HS3P placard (or whatever they call it) and a flat pack on the back with two radios. I like keeping my set up pretty minimal, but my work requierments puts my kit at 24lbs. I don’t run shoulder pads, and I run the chicken straps (which I don’t love with side plates, and I wish where a little elastic.. without it’s a balance deciding if I need to breath or have equipment stability.)

For a company that prides themselves on being innovative, this is a pretty big dud. It's also really expensive for a basic carrier and the accessories seem over priced as well. Specifically, the placard. It's $100 for kydex mag pouches with some elastic pockets. For half the price I can get a Spiritus MkV and have a lot more functionality. I'll be passing on this.

    Let me start by saying I bought into the idea of this carrier when I saw the marketing material and I would consider myself a Haley Fanboy.
    With that said I got it sent with everything you see in the video here. I was wanting to replace my JPC 1.0 with it.
    I essentially got a JPC 2.0 without the zippers.I’m not upset about the purchase, one of the largest selling points for me was the padding at the top of the front plate bag and the PTT/coms routing options. Looking back maybe I would have been better off saving more money and going with an AVS. I think the biggest disappointment was the chicken strap the quality of materials used to both pad and create rigidity feels very cheap. If you think you want a Haley Thorax reconsider what it is you want and probably get a JPC 2.0 with a Parashooter Nano placard instead of a TRMP.
    Let me be clear I like the carrier it’s just way overpriced for what you get and I did get a significant discount at the time I purchase.

      How to tell me you bought a thorax/Ac1 without actually telling me you bought a thorax/Ac1. Please for future reference … at least start your comments out with outlining your bias … dot dot dot.

      My guy, it ripped on camera.
      There is no bias against Haley and I’m very much not a fanboy of Spiritus.
