nah you're missin it. he was diverse musically, so what he's an artist. where he wasn't diverse was in his messaging. not just the message of a song, what he projects overall to the audience. you have a story, you have themes that your life is about. that is the focus. remember to be an artist, take everything with a grain of salt.
imagine a friend of yours. they might be in any kind of mood on any kind of day, but they're the same person. if they were a new person with a new personality every day you likely wouldnt be their friend. you wouldn't trust them, you wouldn't trust that you know who they are, you wouldn't be sure their values align with yours. THAT is all it's about.
Great insight man, Im trying to adopt your mindset. I have been trying to make something fully anonymous but im starting to realise what you're saying here. I need to show/expose myself to make it...
should you create a different artist persona for each style that you are producing? I’m doing a lot of different styles, e.g. neoclassical contemplative piano music, singer songwriter, or electro. …
Branding is crucial to have longevity as an artist essentially you’re making a billboard for everyone to see and be intrigued to look into your world This can be used for a concept album or your overall artist persona either way be deliberate on who you want to market to
This is the most clear and well articulated thought piece I was looking for. Answered and cleared a lot of the questions and thought processes I had in the back of mind but now it’s easier to see. I feel like I was watching with foggy lenses and you have cleared it. Looking forward to apply all I have learned today. Thank you and I predict this Chanell will have a lot success in the future if u keep it going 🤘🏿
Consistency in sound - I really don't agree. Sure, if you're going from metal to yodelling, to beat boxing, yeah that's ridiculous. But if you're making different sounding music, across different but related genres, surely that's more engaging than churning out the same shit over and over? This is especially the case for albums. Look at Kanye, Tyler the Creator, Childish Gambino... These guys have done pretty varied bodies of music. And as long as that music is good and stands out / connects with people, then surely the fact that it's varied enhances it?
What happens if I can give my personal experience in more than one genre like I make more than one genre that are really good , like I make really good edm pop about partying songs , really good pop love songs and really good sad ballads
So you’re literally saying is to be a virgo 😂 (im a virgo too) but my biggest inspiration is Michael Jackson(virgo too)…i’m a music producer but i started in orchestra for 4 years in middle school…I’ve been singing for 2 years…The music that I make the most is very rhythmic and very movie like (scores). I’ve graduated highschool in 2022 btw^ I listen to a lot of music…the music i make doesn’t sound the same…i dont like making the same music over and over again like some artists do (ice spice) I’m naturally more of a Michael Jackson and Beyonce when it comes to music making. When making music in a group i always like to change the sound if it needs to.
So how do you explain artists like xxxtentacion who was so diverse? This advice basically means you have to sound the same every song

cant believe you didnt mention lana del rey - probably the most perfect and influential example of this in the last 15 years.
WHAT? LADY GAGA Y MOST INFLUENTIAL THAN LANA, LANA IS JUST A PUPPET
I forgive you for pronouncing Nike the way you did… I hear the accent and it also was most likely a brain fart 💪🏾 great video

My brand is the mid 30s bleak abyss of disillusionment. People like feelgood music, enjoy having your day ruined folks. Muhahahahaha!
