Hi, glad so many people have gotten something out of this and thanks to Burstimo for having me on. I rarely if ever have time to give individual feedback on an unsolicited demos (it actually takes me a long time to do properly) so hopefully being on a platform like this is a little bit of help. I can see from the comments though
that I've left lots of things out, so happy to come back and answer questions at some point if the bosses at Burstimo will have me. Good luck, Oh, and thanks to that pineapple person for the request!

They went to USA and RCA only had one condition - that they should go to Vietnam and play for the American soldiers. The band refused to sign, which made the RCA guys freak out completely. RCA had their passports and refused to give it to them, before they - as a punishment - had played 3 times a day for a month at their new club in LA, without pay.

that’s why discography’s finished .... you put a garage band man , without any skill , any Academy , any notion of music , just putting samples , riffs, and grooves here and there .... and you really think you’ve made the MUSIC ??? Or just a basic autotune Voice , that can sell the song for one year and then disappear?? Sorry ... but this is not Music Industry, this should be called “ Improvisation Industry “ , and that’s not professional enough, to associate all that with a Big Label like Warner or worse ... Universalmusicgroup.... God Bless the Real Music .... not that shit .

Very encouraging to hear Joe’s perspective, especially considering the position he’s in and how demonized that position has been in the last couple decades. I loved listening to this conversation, thanks so much guys.

This was very insightful. Especially the emphasis on having a story.
From a personal experience I've found finding a narrative the hardest thing to do, but I can imagine it being right up there with the most important things to have in your locker from a promotional perspective.
With the right narrative it can really help you find the natural home/demographic for your work. I guess this is why I've held back from making risk investments in marketing my project. The reality is it would be pointless, you can't be just 'Music Guy' in such a saturated market.
