I love the GX10. I’ve been getting to grips with it all week and tonight is its live debut. I’m using it straight into the PA. I’m very impressed with it. Especially the X amps. Looks like Boss really spent some time with those. They sound and feel real to me. Very convincing when you’re in the room (difficult to get across on RUclips etc)
Yes agreed re. In the room vs on RUclips. Certain things just can’t be filmed...stumbled on the “sag” parameter recently which when dialled in correctly can really enhance the realism of the modelling ‘under your hand’ as it were. Particularly with higher gain stuff. Do let me know how you get on with the GX10 live tonight, have a good gig 👍
@ wow I didn’t know about the sag function. I’m thinking maybe it’s present in the collection of X Amps I’m impressed with 🤔. It’s a great little unit. All going well tonight I could see myself using it for a very long time.
I got The gx10 and am very impressed with it. All you wanna do is add Boss FS-7 or any dual footswitch (Bluetooth adapter is optional) btw that’s my setup. And you’re all sets
Yes! Exactly what I’ve been looking at. So the FS7 would become a more accessible up/down in the live situation? Have I got that right? Johnny Marr does something like this I believe. Thanks for watching 🤘🏻
@ yes, I use fs7 to go up and down and I stay in manual mode so I can turn on off effects using 3 foot switches. And Bluetooth adapter to play backing tracks ( you can use app to edit patches which I don’t prefer).
That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Appreciate the real world feedback on the switch- freeing up the switches on the unit opens up lots of possibilities 👍
@ watch Glenn DeLaune's GX10 videos. I think he uses a function called CURRENT NUMBER, to get extra functionality out of the same switch you use to select preset (like a boost and add delay etc)! This means you'll be in one preset bank only. This is one case where the FS7 would be great for switching banks.
@@ChrisTidestrom I think I’ve seen those vids! Haven’t got my head around the “current number” setting yet. Tried it when I was relatively new to the machine and could not get my head around it. Will have to revisit, thanks for reminding me!
After a couple years gigging with GX-100, I replaced it with the GX-10 to save even more weight and space. The GX-100 patches all transfered, and I added a couple of foot switches on a TRS cable to operate the looper. My backup is a ToneX ONE...
@@joebowbeer I could see getting by with just gx-10, and using external switches on occasion. Its great that boss didnt compromise in features with it, just smaller footprint. Tonex is amazing too. Did you profile the gx-10 for tonex or just going with a good sound?
@@kaitsu9608I did not go to the trouble to profile the GX-10 for ToneX ONE, and I'm definitely not looking forward to needing a backup. But if I ever needed to jump on a plane with only what would fit in my pockets, I'd grab a ToneX ONE.
Wow. You have the opposite problem as me. I just got the GX-100 and will be using the M-VAVA Chocolate and another dual switch to cover all the function and it will still feel like a compromise! well, just starting...maybe you'll give me some good ideas and I'll comment again! (By the way there's sticky glow in the dark tape on many of my pedals)
Very cool man, definitely impressed with this unit so far, as a committed trad-pedal-bloke up to now. Has required a fairly big switch (forgive the pun) in my approach to playing live but I had the best part of 5 years off gigs so it’s the perfect time for a change. More thoughts soon 👍
The FS-1-WL is a great companion for the GX-10 with a BLE MIDI dongle. The FS-1's three foot switches are great and you can add an expression pedal, and another two foot switches (TRS). The FS-1 app and documentation are high quality (distinguishing it from the M-Vave Chocolate/Plus). You can connect the FS-1-WL to both the GX-10 and to the mobile app at the same time.
@ by the way, the Chocolate "Plus" model can function as a USB host, making it one of the cheapest ways to connect to GX-10 over USB MIDI (wired connection).
Your both amazing Matt and Lucy keep being amazing you to and so proud of you both ❤️❤️❤️
The tuner is BRILLIANT! Use the page buttons to change view/mode of the tuner!
Agreed! Stumbled on this the other day. Incredible stuff. So much thought gone into it as a product 👌🏻

Really good video. Having just got the GX-10 myself, I'm always interested to hear how other people are using it.
Many thanks 👍 glad you found the vid useful. It’s a great machine. Lots to explore, more soon!
I got the gx-100 not long ago and it has turned out to be a swiss army knife. Last multipedal was korg ax100g and tech surely has come a loooong way
No doubt about it. Incredible machines, we are living in the future!🤘🏻
