Clem (& the game) just kinda glosses over the fact her dad died... Clem is an orphan now but the mum is the focus at all times. That's actually kinda sad when you think about it. Dude died trapped in an iron maiden & his daughters like "oh, well"
She probably just thought "Oh, well I'll bring him back after Mom!" She didn't even cry after her mom died, cause she didn't really understand what it meant for her. She thought she could just fix it. Cause that worked out well in Full Metal/Iron Alchemist O.o There's a photo in the credits with two characters from the dev's other games where Clem wrote something like "Look, Dad, I made friends!" She didn't have the same kind of bond but I do think she still cared. She said she didn't want to make him sad in one of her notes.
I noticed that too, but then the note she writes later about not seeing him for days implies she didn't know where he was or what had happened to him. So, I think if her voodoo doll was the cause of his injuries and death, she did it without knowing it would work at all, or work that well. 😢
Can't believe Clem watched an FMA expy and still thought trying to resurrect her mother with alchemy would work out fine! Kinda sweet to see all the positive traits she wanted to use to bring her mom back though (beauty, strength, intelligence, determination, hope). Also, poor dad! His gruesome end doesn't really get any recognition. They weren't close but Clem really is just like "meh, whatever."
Maybe dad was a bad guy....🤔 mom's demise or at least as Clem sees it...but I'm just getting started with story and reading comments😂 and a lot say this about her reaction to dad's demise annshe might be the culprit🤔🤷🏾♀️

I _really_ liked the juxtaposition in CLeM of a charming puzzle/adventure game based in a sometimes horror-adjacent storyline. All the cultural references were fun. And, despite the difficult subject matter, we were rewarded in the end. Imo, CLeM lived up to the promise of its demo. Well done devs.
This was a fun little adventure. Although i have to admit I kinda figured out most of what was going on fairly quick. That family photo of them in their costumes was a pretty obvious hint, and gathering up stuff for an obvious ritual or spell with talk of the mother being gone. Can't say I enjoyed the beetle raising puzzle. That was a bit of a stresser. I love large species of beetle, specifically Hercules, Rhinoceros, and Stag Beetles. I hope the dev makes more games like this though, i really enjoyed it. Speaking of which, i wish the devs behind Fran Bow and Little Misfortune would make a new game in that universe. I feel like there's more to see.
...so we aren't going to ask the very important question of did that little girl kill her father? No. Okay just checking. Highly concerned that little girl might be getting away with murder
Loosely. The voodoo doll made me think she might have, but he wrote a letter saying he went in their by himself so maybe he was cursed to? Either way, I don’t think she really connected to him as much as her mother, so I guess his loss wasn’t a big deal. He seemed distant before his wife died, then after he probably went through such depression he neglected his daughter. His letter says as much. Sad all round 😢
I don't actually think she did it though...or at least, not intentionally. The only pin that had a corresponding spike was one in his leg, he didn't have a matching wound in the head or chest. I think it was her expressing frustration at his attempts to get through to her. She no longer had her mom to talk to about it. She's still pretty young, with a different understanding of death, she didn't really mourn her mom's passing until she read the letter. So, I imagine she just thought "Oh, I'll bring Dad back later after Mom" and only grasped it afterwards. There's actually a photo in the credits of Clem happy with Agatha and Nika (characters from the dev's other games) with text that said something like "Look, Dad, I made friends!" so she was thinking of him.
Pretty sure he was drunk (wine bottle behind him) and he overreacted to the spider. He got trapped, so she couldn't hear him. She doesn't have any malice towards him, just getting annoyed for taking her toys. She also doesn't understand what happend to her mother and does not understanding why he's always drunk, but wants him to be happy.
Losing my mom a couple of years ago that have been so beyond painful this ending made me sob. My mom told me, Erin you're my best friend but you have to let me go. I begged her not to leave me, it was selfish of me. What a beautiful heartbreaking game.
No, it wasnt selfish. I've lost my grandma few months ago, but she decided not to be here anymore. We were planning how to take care of her. She didnt want to and passed away few days afterwards. We let her go and I take care of my mum - at least I try to. Your mom would be proud of you, I'm sure about that!
I’m so sorry. Not trying to one-up or trauma dump, but I lost almost everyone and everything I cared about in the span of a year, and I haven’t recovered and never will. Love the little Easter eggs in Clem's bedroom. I wonder if The Black Lady (Which is the corrupted form of Chibiusa) might be a hint to Clem's true nature. Plus there is Usagi's wand from the first arc behind her.

Puzzles were challenging and you have go through them in excellent manner as always. I only have some doubts with "magical hat" option, I find it a little too lazy. If Clem truly have watched Fullmetal Alchemist, she'd have realized from the first couple of episodes alone that reviving a loved one isn't gonna go smoothly as she'd thought..... unless she doesn't care if her mom looked segmented, as long as she's back. :| Very nice but sad game. I know that she favors her mom more, but it's tragic that her dad passed on while she merely shrugged it off as if it was nothing.
if you noticed, i think it was in her room, there was a voodoo doll of her dad that had pins poked all over it like in the iron maiden. She did that to him with her anger and spell casting i bet.
The ending is sad yet sweet. It was heartbreaking because these sort of matter with life, death, acceptance and moving on is everyone in the entire world had to go through and experienced. But...erm...Clem...you kinda forgot about your father. His corpse is still stuck at the dungeon 😅 Shouldn't you give him a proper burial?
Clem (& the game) just kinda glosses over the fact her dad died... Clem is an orphan now but the mum is the focus at all times. That's actually kinda sad when you think about it. Dude died trapped in an iron maiden & his daughters like "oh, well"

That letter at the end is a real tear jerker, damn.
At 58:22 there is a voodoo doll that looks like her father. And if I am not mistaken, the needles are, where he got stabbed by the iron thorns
That’s real dark if she was the one responsible. The dad never did anything wrong!
I noticed that too, but then the note she writes later about not seeing him for days implies she didn't know where he was or what had happened to him. So, I think if her voodoo doll was the cause of his injuries and death, she did it without knowing it would work at all, or work that well. 😢

Very nice but sad game. I know that she favors her mom more, but it's tragic that her dad passed on while she merely shrugged it off as if it was nothing.
Right in time for my evening relax time! Thank you for always putting out great videos, really looking forward to watching this one!
What a phenomenal game and a great video. Poor dad got punked though lol
Not gonna lie that good ending actually hit me
🥰🥰🥰 More please? That was wonderful.
if you noticed, i think it was in her room, there was a voodoo doll of her dad that had pins poked all over it like in the iron maiden. She did that to him with her anger and spell casting i bet.
I love this, reminds me of little big planet lol. So cute.
Unexpected IT Crowd is always a treat!
Finally found someone who could remember the telephone number.. besides Moss 😂
Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls in her room. 🥹
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed
WOW a 2 hour long video. your the best. Hi Chris
Thank you so much for playing 😊😊😊
Clem's room has Small lady the crystal moon wand and luna P from sailor moon on the case. ❤
15:26 - No problem for me, Iike when you bring us different games saúde from horror, and you should think about bringing other games like this one!
Reminds me of a bit from Wild ARMs 3. If you know, you know.
died? DIED? I think her mum misspelt dyed!!
I don’t mind at all!! I love love love puzzle games! This is kinda weird n spooky tho 🤷🏼♀️ I love it
58:18 Is that a voodoo doll of her dad? Did she kill him?
I had the same thought. I need to recheck the places where the needles go and the iron dorns of the iron maiden...
It's like playing your own animation.
leaving a comment and like since you actually went to get another ending
Love it, thanks Chris! 👍🏼💗
Clem is also the name of a soldier in Warframe. He says his name a lot.
I see why they sneak in FMA vibes
