Learner Driver Fail & Crash WO18UCJ dannydashcam

My car was parked in the local ASDA while I popped in quickly my brother waited in my car because it was a nice day and he is a lazy so and so LOL.
Whilst waiting a Learner driver under instruction ( not a professional instructor ) turned in to park but accidentally clipped the Trolley shelter causing substantial damage to the Renault Capture she was driving.
few words were then exchanged in the car then the instructor gets out to attempt a quick repair to the body panels.
It is a shame it happened but these things happen especially when learning to drive.

1:05 A teachable moment, surely, if you're the Driving Instructor ... this is where you explain to the student how it's much better to reverse into parking spaces, as you're more maneuverable and less likely to hit stuff ...

@@joevictor53 Maneuverability (that's why fork-lift trucks have rear wheel steering) driving out of the space is much safer with proper peripheral vision. It's a win-win.

Yes I agree. But on a driving test you can be asked to park. Forwards to the left. Forwards to the right, Reverse to the left & Reverse to the right. She left her turn in a fraction too late. The double hooped spacing line is a pain as it makes the space narrow.

She better be insured! When my husband used to teach me to drive I used to make sure I was insured to drive his car! Luckily this never happened to me

2 weeks earlier my.car was clipped on thr same car park but my camera wasn't turned on. I got a nice 3 inch scratch on my bumper and marked my alloy wheel , wigan asda is a dangerous place 🤦‍♂️
