Hi Zoe! I'm not Graham but as I was watching your video, I thought of a couple tips :P like take the books from the library (they are no longer on lockdown in mtl), try to budget the fixed stuff & on pay day put it all in a separate savings account (hydro bill, driving exam, etc), for your hydro you could even spread the amount across the year & pay the same amount every time, try to look at your shopping behavior & consult yourself on it (since you are a consultant :P), like to recognize what triggers you in the moment to spend money :) and for the miscellaneous stuff (like the 40$ bottle) , I try to budget myself & allow to spend xyz amount per week & say it's Wednesday & I have no more budget left for that, I'm just going to wait for the next week & that's it :) that way on next Monday, if I still want to splurge on smth, I would have thought about it for multiple days :) hope this helps!
Hey Zoe! Perhaps try budgeting, this helped me give every dollar a purpose and I felt so much more organized. I’m telling my money where to go and I actually have a budget for miscellaneous purchases 🥰
girl I'm sooo bad at budgeting, I just can't seem to stick to it. I think I'm going to give YNAB another try though, so here's hoping I get the hang of it this time!! ❤️
Hi Zoe!! I looked into your video by chance when I searched job tips for consulting roles for interview preparation, but I just couldn’t get out of your videos!! You’re so cute in sharing sensitive but real feelings of little cozy life. And You’re just like a talkative sister, who likes to tell us every single moment of yourself!! Thx for cheering me up by your energetic and positive talks!! Just to let u know you’ve got an Asian fan living in Australia now ^ - ^
Graham Stephan climbed through my window once, he followed me around the house and kept asking "why does your coffee costs more than 20 cents?" Weird guy
Hi Zoe ! I live in London but I was born and raised for a few years in Italy where Troffie with Pesto originated! It's a local dish specific from one region in Italy ( north-west next to the French border), Troffie is a type of fresh pasta. The best sauce to go with it is pesto, but also butter and treated parmesan cheese :) X
I needed this video! This month has been extra stressful so I’ve been spending a lot more. It’s kind of embarrassing but I’ve been doing really well in all the other months. Time to budget for the next month :(
Hi Zoe! I love all your videos, I actually just accepted a Cyber Analyst role at Deloitte and am really nervous especially watching how you felt at your old job! I hopefully will have a better experience, but I guess we'll see lol! Keep posting and love the content as always!!!
This is a really good video especially since I think this is something everyone can relate to. I think for your hydro bill you should setup a Equalised Payments Plan where you get to pay a fix price each month. and if you get pay twice a month you can use each pay check to get half of it. What do you think about using cash at stores instead of cards? So if you budget to only spend $50 it would be hard to spend any more than that. Since you only have what you budget when you go into the store.
Hey Zoe! If you think you're ready for your G2 test now, try signing in periodically and seeing if there are any cancellations. I lucked out and found a cancellation at the SAAQ a week or two after I booked mine and didn't have to wait three more months for my license.
I LOVE What Alice Forgot ❤️❤️❤️ Such a funny and insightful book. Also book buying recommendations, I’ve curtailed my book spending through Book of the Month! It’s 15 for your monthly pick, and you can add any other new hardbacks in their database for 9.99! I love it because I can buy books that are new releases for an affordable price!
Sorry love you 😜 and I'm totally jealous of that carrot cake; can we get a video of you baking? 💖 Also added Liane Moriarty's books to my reading list and Maggie is so cute in the background when she's walking herself on the leash!!
omg $75 for 4 books!! you should try looking on used book sites (eg. Abebooks and thriftbooks in the US, but even book depository has free shipping worldwide and is at least a little discounted)!! using the public library is also a great option too - if you’re on lockdown a lot of libraries have kindle ebook checkouts :)
I use the Libby app to borrow audiobooks and ebooks from my library. I haven't purchased an audible subscription or purchased a hard copy of a book in ages.
i just wanted to say thank you for sharing this video it made me actually look back how i am spending my money and well i feel better about my spending habits right now because its not as bad as i thought it was i mean it could be better but i think its workable and like i said if i cut down on mcdonalds i think i am going to do great.
Girl I was doing so well at the beginning of the year and by the end of February, I broke my budget! And I barely know how it happened! Time to get back on track in March!
one habit i have to deal with myself in terms of spending is i have a very bad habit of going to mcdonalds a lot which is about 10$ and then candy for another 5$ that is 15$ and sometimes this can be everyday after work lol. but i am getting better and trying to remind myself it adds up. like today for example i did not buy mcdonalds or candy after work which is nice but yeah its like everyday i feel like i made it through this day but i can make it through next day.
so i looked back at my spending for the week of feb 17th to march 3rd i get paid every 2 weeks. and it turns out i spent 230$ on stuff if you devide that half each week i payed 115$ which is not bad i guess idk lol.(this is not inculding any of my other monthly expenses/bills , phone bill, internet, buss pass netflix etc etc )
So why do you pay your bills manually? Just put em on autopayment. Also, if you keep checking that test booking website frequently, people free up spots but then you should be really ready to take the road in the next few days
this is gonna be a totally random comment but I also just booked my G2 ( Ontario) test for July too. I though I would have to pay to book it too but it never prompted me to make a payment... but I got a confirmation that it was all booked. What was the payment process like for you, was it a pop up link or directly on the site ? I'm only asking cuz I don't want it to be cancelled cu it was the only slot available LOL.
hey i just recently went out and bought something kind of "silly" too that was expensive. i went got myself a bunch of custom made shirts a few weeks ago. cuz long story short it felt like it was do that or get a tattoo lol.(tattoo probably would have been cheaper)
I don't even have a link to it, I just DM'd the girl & I'm not on insta right now... I'll email her and see what she can do & hopefully I can link it on my next vid ❤️
okay so 940$! wow um and i feel bad for my spending sometimes. so i am currently in the process of my spending until my next paycheck march 17th. and i can tell you i have spent 55$ on two video games lol i was like why not, my headphones broke so ended up getting new ones for 30$ which yeah sucked :( also did something silly where i pay off 55$ on my credit card but used my bank card to buy the video games i wanted to buy them with my credit card lol yeah. however i also have my cell phone bill coming up in a few days lol. but i mean idk if i should count that lol. the rest has been mcdonalds/going to tims for snacks yeah right now its a bit cofusing look back spending that extra credit card money kind of ruins things for me so its like yeah. i ended up spending some of that extra 55$ on my credit card on mcdonds lol. i know its confusing.so lets just take a wild guess and say i spent about 150$ since march 3rd lol.
so i would like to say if you can afford 1,300$ in terms of rent i feel like you should not feel bad about your spending habits mostly because i am just going based upon the fact that you pay that much in rent willingly i get the impression you have a pretty good income better then mine more then likely. as i said i could afford half of what you pay in terms of rent. so i think you are doing fine in terms of spending and yeah sometimes its nice to treat yourself to things you enjoy.

Appreciate the honesty. Personal finance is hard, but it’s a journey so don’t let this one week get you down. Love the idea of a no-spend!

@@ZoePritchard hahaha! Exactly! Good luck 🤞🏽
We should budget about 100$ a month or so for hydro ! But I am like you I always forget and get suprised by the bill !
this is so relatable!! literally me
hahah

Do you have to pay for internet, or is that covered by work or in your rent? The cable/internet bill is a big expense for me.
My mom works for the internet provider so she gets a super good rate and pays it for me. I pay her back with dinner or favours haha
Love Liane Moriarty books too! I read all 3 of those.
I just started the Husbands Secret and so far it's great!!
So why do you pay your bills manually? Just put em on autopayment. Also, if you keep checking that test booking website frequently, people free up spots but then you should be really ready to take the road in the next few days
LOL if I had a $300 bill on auto pay I'd have a heart attack
Love your honesty and Maggie is so cuteee 😍🐾 Which bakery did you go to on Monday? I also live in Montreal and am looking for new places to support ☺️
thank you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I actually have no idea what it's called, it's just a little french bakery near my house!

I just use Marketplace!
The best pizza is the Mikes at the Concordia metro station 🇫🇮👍

thank you 💖💖
okay so first off yeah there is no way i could afford 1,300$ in rent living in montreal like i personally would try to aim for half of that myself.
Ok. I gotta sat this. YOU LOOK SO FUDGING CUTE WITH THOSE GLASSES. 😍
If you get reacted to by Graham my life will be complete too! Two of my favorite youtubers!!
🥺 I'm hoping for it!!
Please don't be cheap in heating your house in the winter, you'll regret it in your 30s or 40s, healthwise. I'm learning the hard way.
snap this is such a good point!
Hi zoe!

your hydro bill is so expensive it’s almost the same amount my parents pay for the house 😂😂😂😭😭
girl i know i wanna cry every time
I love your jewelry - could you do a video on your everyday jewelry and collection. Very good video

Some hydro companies in Canada will put you on budget so that consistently you know the cost of your hydro
my guess is $850 …
