Just because i don't know the answer doesn't mean that the answer you are giving is correct. I gave you my attention and heard you . Just because you speak loud and have a lot of bookish knowledge and fans ,doesn't mean that I have to agree . There was never a common purpose of life ( life itself is not clearly definable). The concept of god was created by wise people , so that society can solve their life problems and find solutions by working peacefully among each other. The carrots and sticks ( of heaven/hell/ rebirth/karma) were created to control actions of people , with intention for improvements for everyone, by great teachers like Moses,Jesus,Mohd,Budha,Nanak ..... We are born with idea of competition for survival,, these remarkable teachers taught us that its collaboration for survival, not competition. Competition is there to improve ourselves from what we were into what we can be . But it is collaboration that will take us all into a better future. By forcing bookish knowledge ,in misguided zeal, sometimes these un-appointed salesmen confuse the customer. defeating the original ideas created by their great teachers . I am sure sure Mr Naik has very good intentions but just because one is not being convinced by him , one should not stop looking for answers . Keep on looking for your own purpose of life , no one can teach or tell you that . You have to find it for your self. There is purpose of every thing and everyone in this world, but its not the same purpose for every one. To life in collective ( as in whole humanity) I cant find any purpose yet, as in we as humans cant be of any use to the universe.Purpose of my life for me , is to find my usefulness . So everything and anything has no purpose (use) at the scale and time of universe in total. We just try to keep busy in finding what causes what , so we look at illusion of purpose. The need to find purpose , is a short term illusion , happening to observer who wants to know what is causing what at a small scale ? If he concentrates on the grand scale , he will sure understand the futality of his research. Life and lifeless both have some insticts instincts of survival. In living things we call it 'need for survival' i non living things we call it "inertia of motion". We are no different from a mountain stone or a tree or a volcano or a wave of the ocean or ray of the sunlight. We just give over importance to ouselves, and try to find a special purpose for ourselves over other things and beings. We are just here , we dont know since when or why or till when. I have all the respect for the holy quran and indeed its a magical thing. Reality and truth are very difficult things to describe. My sofa in my living room , some poor guy would call it ' rich guy's stuff' ,, a person in sofa business would call it 'a low end pleather sofa'. a bunch of kids would call it ' a trampoline' .. All of them are correct in their perception, its when people compare their perception , what they agree on , the common factors in their perception will be reality for them. Reality is nothing but common denominator of perceptions of a group of observers. One single observer can only have perception, when he tries to negotiate with other observer , the reality is created. Now there is basic natural need in us to compare our perceptions with others so we can know if what we feel is real or not. I can understand completely the need for people who know 'the truth' and want others to know it too. Subconsciously they want reenforcement of their perception , which acts as proof for them that they were correct. So if i disagree with someone , and he is convinced that what knows is complete truth , he might fight /argue back. Violence is a form of communication , so is terrorism . They all have natural space and will never be removed from our society. If the game one child is playing is so enjoyable , there will be other children attracted to that ' reality ' to have that good experience, no convincing required. We use convincing/luring / debating/ advertising/shouting/ physical force / voilence/ terrorism to convince others to see our 'realities' all the time. Its bound to happen when we believe that our perception is the reality. The more people agree to us the more we believe that we are correct. But the fact is that it will be impossible for everyone to believe in one kind of games / rules etc. The variety of life is the reason it has survived. The moment everyone believed in one thing , is the moment everyone is at risk of perishing. Just because we see the differently and believe in different realities , we all are surviving. The sheer variety of ideas is the seed ground for innovation of ideas. Its human nature to convince others into believing what they believe in . But also keep i mind that we still would see things differently .If we are really enjoying one game , we should continue to play it and if its good enough more people will join in . At the same time we should try new games , so that we don't miss even better games . Believing what know is the best , is cause of misery/ fight etc etc. If we believe that god is the best creator ever , how can he create an imperfect creation ,, how dare we think we can improve this world ,, just let it be . I would add a short story , one boss sent two of his employees to buy some fabrics from another town. Both would receive a letter by port every day , telling them what to buy . One would just buy the required stuff to the best of his ability and send it to his boss instructions . While the other would read the letter , memorise it and the take few minutes each day to recite and praise the words written in the letter . How beautiful was handwriting of the boss , how rhythmic was boss's words etc etc.. To the point that he would even argue or debate with anyone that his boss is the best boss in the whole world. Sadly sometimes he just couldn't find time to do in action as instructed in the letter of the boss . In the end which of the two employee would receive promotion and which one is risking his job? My question is , do we trust Quran to do what have to do or just trust it without following it in practical life , to the best of our abilities ? Islam has not created a single problem of this world , intact it has saved the world from many small and big problems. No doubt. But are we becoming slaves of word ? As wisely put by you interpretation of Quran or any holy book changes over time. The only 100% correct interpretation was with the author only . Rest all of us carry our perceptions to translations and thus therefore see the same book and words in different light. The spirit in which these books were written were for benefit of everybody . So even if follow the spirit of love and kindness mentioned in them we will be atleast on the path shown by them . We don't need detailed quotes unless we want to study them professionally . The facts are simple , there is one god , who can not be understood so just assume he is there and stop wasting your time in trying to understand who can not be understood by its own definition . There has been many messengers of this god who spent most portion of their life to tell others to just be human, to rise above one's self and work for goodness of every one. Mohamed , peace be upon him was the last messenger , is the trust one has to keep to be able to trust Quran and its words. My point was its futile to find details , just go with the follow ,, stop being slave of words as what we will understand is our perception not authors reality. How can we spread words which we don't understand fully and follow fully?

it is mentioned in the Holy Quran that Allah created the universe with smoke (dukhan is arabic) and smoke is ultimately a gas right

With the passing of time, and with the formation of galaxies, the gas has gradually condensed into individual stars. The universe in its very early stages was, thus, still in the form of hot gases. This is confirmed in the Quran in the following verse:"Then He took hold of the sky when it was smoke." 41:11Note that the verse did not say clouds or gas, but smoke, which is a very accurate description as smoke is hot gas, whilst clouds and gas could be hot or cold.

Every single prophecy made by our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) is coming true day by day and those did not happen are yet to come in the future....
if everything state in Islam is true then obviously the purpose stated here is true too which is simple and logical and spiritual at the same time....so tell me why would it be bad to tell people about the truth.....and it is a duty for Muslims to invite non Muslims to Islam...we can't stop it as it is a command to us

I can't help but smiling at your response . Its really exhaustive and i can trust it on the face of it without verifying it . I have all the respect for the holy quran and indeed its a magical thing.
Reality and truth are very difficult things to describe.
My sofa in my living room , some poor guy would call it ' rich guy's stuff' ,, a person in sofa business would call it 'a low end pleather sofa'. a bunch of kids would call it ' a trampoline' .. All of them are correct in their perception, its when people compare their perception , what they agree on , the common factors in their perception will be reality for them.
Reality is nothing but common denominator of perceptions of a group of observers. One single observer can only have perception, when he tries to negotiate with other observer , the reality is created.
Now there is basic natural need in us to compare our perceptions with others so we can know if what we feel is real or not.
I can understand completely the need for people who know 'the truth' and want others to know it too. Subconsciously they want reenforcement of their perception , which acts as proof for them that they were correct. So if i disagree with someone , and he is convinced that what knows is complete truth , he might fight /argue back.
Violence is a form of communication , so is terrorism . They all have natural space and will never be removed from our society.
If the game one child is playing is so enjoyable , there will be other children attracted to that ' reality ' to have that good experience, no convincing required.
We use convincing/luring / debating/ advertising/shouting/ physical force / voilence/ terrorism to convince others to see our 'realities' all the time. Its bound to happen when we believe that our perception is the reality. The more people agree to us the more we believe that we are correct.
But the fact is that it will be impossible for everyone to believe in one kind of games / rules etc. The variety of life is the reason it has survived. The moment everyone believed in one thing , is the moment everyone is at risk of perishing. Just because we see the differently and believe in different realities , we all are surviving. The sheer variety of ideas is the seed ground for innovation of ideas.
Its human nature to convince others into believing what they believe in . But also keep i mind that we still would see things differently .If we are really enjoying one game , we should continue to play it and if its good enough more people will join in . At the same time we should try new games , so that we don't miss even better games .
Believing what know is the best , is cause of misery/ fight etc etc.
If we believe that god is the best creator ever , how can he create an imperfect creation ,, how dare we think we can improve this world ,, just let it be . He will take care of his business and we should take care of ours . We can't be following his words and trying to convince others by our words or by repeating his words.. The best way of convincing is by following his words in practical life and let others see how enjoyable and loving lives we have just by following him ,, and if its good enough for them they will try and eventually follow us .
I would add a short story , one boss sent two of his employees to buy some fabrics from another town. Both would receive a letter by port every day , telling them what to buy . One would just buy the required stuff to the best of his ability and send it to his boss instructions . While the other would read the letter , memorise it and the take few minutes each day to recite and praise the words written in the letter . How beautiful was handwriting of the boss , how rhythmic was boss's words etc etc.. To the point that he would even argue or debate with anyone that his boss is the best boss in the whole world. Sadly sometimes he just couldn't find time to do in action as instructed in the letter of the boss . In the end which of the two employee would receive promotion and which one is risking his job?
My question is , do we trust Quran to do what have to do or just trust it without following it in practical life , to the best of our abilities ?
Islam has not created a single problem of this world , intact it has saved the world from many small and big problems. No doubt.
But are we becoming slaves of word ? As wisely put by you interpretation of Quran or any holy book changes over time. The only 100% correct interpretation was with the author only . Rest all of us carry our perceptions to translations and thus therefore see the same book and words in different light. The spirit in which these books were written were for benefit of everybody . So even if follow the spirit of love and kindness mentioned in them we will be atleast on the path shown by them . We don't need detailed quotes unless we want to study them professionally .
The facts are simple , there is one god , who can not be understood so just assume he is there and stop wasting your time in trying to understand who can not be understood by its own definition . There has been many messengers of this god who spent most portion of their life to tell others to just be human, to rise above one's self and work for goodness of every one. Mohamed , peace be upon him was the last messenger , is the trust one has to keep to be able to trust Quran and its words.
My point was its futile to find details , just go with the follow ,, stop being slave of words as what we will understand is our perception not authors reality. How can we spread words which we don't understand fully and follow fully?
