100 years ago my great grandfather Da Kol from Surin, Thailand built most of the villages, communes, and districts in Oddar Meanchey before known as Phibunsongkhram Province. He was the Mayor of this region. Before it was just forest area but he and his people from Surin came and cleared the jungle to make way for development such as roads, houses, temples, water reservoirs, and such for the Thai people, Cambodian, people, Lao people, and Chinese people. Then in the 1970s the Khmer rouge took over and destroyed most of what he and his Surin people built. The only remaining things are the massive water reservoir and some of the temples. It is sad that these Cambodian people don't appreciate how much foreigners help them. The Cambodian people even poisoned my great grandfather. We are the real builders of the empire of Angkor. The true descendants of the Varman dynasty and what we did out of bare hands proves it. Now a days, the Cambodian can't even build a few kilometers of road without chinese money and assistance 😂😢

This noodle has nothing to do with Lao people. It was introduced by Chinese-Thai immigrants.
