Gregory, we need to talk about grass. Grass is a plant with narrow leaves growing from the base. A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in a lawn and other places. Grass gets water from the roots in the ground. Grasses are monocotyledon, herbaceous plants. The grasses include the "grass", of the family Poaceae (also called Gramineae). Also sometimes it is used to include the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae). These three families are not closely related but belong to different clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a common life-style. The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, sprouted grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatching thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses, like bamboo can grow very tall. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places, even if they are very cold or very dry. Several other plants that look similar but are not members of the grass family are also sometimes called grass; these include rushes, reeds, papyrus, and water chestnut. Grasses are an important food for many animals, like deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars, and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows. Without grass, dirt can wash away into rivers (erosion). The M4 Sherman evolved from the M3 Medium Tank,[a] which - for speed of development - had its main armament in a side sponson mount. The M4 retained much of the previous mechanical design, but moved the main 75 mm gun into a fully traversing central turret. The 4-bore (approximately 1″/25mm bore diameter) is the largest shoulder-fired rifle actually used for hunting. While they were used by professional guides and hunters as well as sportsmen, the 4-bore was often a presentation and display gun, as it was simply too much for many people to want to carry and shoot. The Minigun, known affectionately as "Sasha",[1][2][3] is the default primary weapon for the Heavy. It is an enormous Gatling-style machine gun with a large rotating barrel, complete with a large white underslung ammunition case and two handles. Firing four bullets at the same time at a rate of ten times a second, the Minigun can quickly rip through opponents at short range. However, the damage falls off quickly over long distances and the bullets are subject to a wide cone of fire. The weapon requires a short period of time to spin up and down before and after firing; during this period and while firing the Heavy cannot jump or switch weapons, has his speed reduced to approximately 47% of his regular movement speed, and cannot move at all while crouching. The spin up can be initiated in midair to avoid losing speed until landing, allowing the Heavy to jump quickly around corners while ready to fire. There is a 50% damage penalty that starts when the gun is revved, decreasing linearly over the course of one second until full damage is reached. Accuracy is also reduced for the same time, with the cone of fire tightening over one second. Players can begin spinning the barrel by holding down alt-fire, which does not fire any ammunition until primary fire is pressed. This can allow the Heavy to quickly respond to enemies when waiting in one position or to briefly hold his fire without fully spinning the gun down. The Minigun deals 15% less damage to a level 2 Sentry Gun, and 20% less damage to a level 3 Sentry Gun. The Shovel is the default melee weapon for the Soldier. It is a stylized hand-held entrenching tool with a splintered handle. The Flamethrower is the default primary weapon for the Pyro. It is a long metal pole, connected by a hose to a propane tank. The tank is attached to the pole via fastening bands. A continually lit pilot light can be seen at the nozzle. The trigger is made out of a team-colored gas pump handle. Upon pressing primary fire, the weapon expels a stream of roughly 33.3 large flame particles per second in a narrow cone, at a cost of 12.5 ammunition per second. Flame particles are not obstructed by enemies or buildings owned by the opposing team, making it ideal for attacking multiple enemies. The range of fire is very limited (approximately 340 Hammer Units when fired while stationary), but is capable of dealing heavy damage in close quarters. An enemy only takes damage from any of a single Flamethrower's particles once every 0.075 seconds. Unlike most weapons, the Flamethrower's base damage is scaled based on the age of the oldest touching flame particle, not distance from the target. This scale begins at 100% for new particles and decreases as they age, down to 50%. The weapon's damage also experiences a ramp-up based on how long an enemy is attacked. Damage begins at 50% and increases up to 100% in approximately 0.9 seconds. If the target is ever not in contact with any flame particles, the ramp-up resets. The ramp-up is separate for each enemy being attacked. Buildings are unaffected by the ramp-up. Critical hits are affected by both the age scaling and the damage ramp-up. Secondary fire causes the weapon to deliver a compression blast which deflects enemy projectiles, pushes opponents away, and extinguishes burning teammates. Deflected enemy projectiles deal mini-crit damage if they would not already be doing critical damage. If so, the deflected projectile deals critical damage. Each compression blast costs 20 ammunition, so it is possible to use 10 Compression blasts before needing to retrieve more ammo. Unlike the weapon's primary fire, the user can still use compression blasts if the weapon is directly in contact with a wall. Apart from direct damage, the Flamethrower also sets targets on fire, causing the target to burn and take additional damage for a short time. Pyros are immune to afterburn, but still take damage directly from the Flamethrower itself. A Spy disguised as a Pyro still receives afterburn. Fire can be extinguished by a Medic's Medi Gun, a Dispenser, submerging in water, friendly Jarate, friendly Mad Milk, friendly Gas Passer, a friendly compression blast, the secondary attack of a friendly Manmelter, a shot from a friendly Sydney Sleeper, charging with the Chargin' Targe, Splendid Screen, or Tide Turner, the Spy-cicle's special ability, the Dead Ringer's special ability, or any type of health pack. Afterburn from the Flamethrower reduces healing from Mediguns, Dispensers, and the Amputator by between 20% and 100%, with the reduction increasing in an inverse proportion to the amount of healing the item is giving. It also reduces the effects of the Vaccinator's Ubercharge by 20%. Using the primary fire of the Flamethrower on a friendly Huntsman-wielding Sniper lights his arrow on fire, and an enemy hit by this arrow afterward is ignited; however, the Pyro who lit the arrow does not receive assist credit. The Shotgun is the default secondary weapon for the Soldier, Pyro, and Heavy, and the default primary weapon for the Engineer. It is a pump-action, sawed-off shotgun. The Shotgun deals high damage at close range. However, its damage falloff at range and low accuracy makes it weak in long-ranged firefights. Usage and strategies vary between classes: Soldiers often use the Shotgun when they are out of rockets and cannot take the time to reload, when in close-quarters combat where explosions would cause self-damage, or when fighting enemy Pyros who are attempting to airblast their rockets. Pyros often use the Shotgun to engage targets outside the range of their Flame Thrower, to deal a finishing blow to an already-burning target, or when fighting underwater (where the Flame Thrower is unable to be used). Heavies often use the Shotgun when there is no time to spin up the Minigun, when they need to be able to run and jump during a fight, or when the Minigun's loud motor sounds might alert enemies to their position. Engineers often use the Shotgun to defend buildings from nearby enemies, to help a Sentry Gun finish off a target, or to Spy-check suspicious players. The Shotgun's first shell fires at least one pellet straight down the crosshair before "bullet spread" takes effect. When random bullet spread is disabled, the pellets instead spread in a fixed three-by-three grid pattern, with two pellets overlapping in the center of the grid. Taunting as Pyro with the Shotgun equipped results in the Hadouken kill taunt. The Rocket Launcher is the default primary weapon for the Soldier. It is a stylized rocket-launching device with wooden grips, a large front sight, and a wide exhaust port. The Rocket Launcher holds up to four rockets, firing them as projectiles at a speed of around 1100 Hammer units per second (roughly 76 km/h or 47 mph). Rockets travel in a straight line, unaffected by gravity, exploding on contact with any surface or player. Rocket explosions deal damage in a set radius; damage inflicted decreases the further the distance from the center of the explosion, with a player taking only 50% of the normal damage at the very edge of the blast radius. Rockets also have damage falloff over long distances. Players killed by rockets most likely explode into gibs. As the explosion from rockets causes knockback, an experienced player can launch opponents into the air by aiming at their feet, causing them to take fall damage or potentially pushing them into environmental hazards. The player can also use the knockback in order to perform a rocket jump by firing at the ground beneath themselves, catapulting themselves vertically and/or horizontally. Crouching during the explosion increases the height and length of the jump while also decreasing the self-inflicted damage. This technique can be used to reach areas inaccessible to other classes, quickly advance, or escape from a bad situation. Suwako Moriya is a nature goddess from the bullet hell series known as Touhou Project. She debuted in touhou projects tenth installment, Mountain of Faith. She was the extra boss of the game and the ancestor of shrine maiden newcomer, Sanae Kochiya, who was the Stage 5 boss in the same game. Suwako used to rule an ancient kingdom before being deposed by fellow goddess, Kanako. Suwako also controls curse gods known as the Mishaguji. She is named after the Suwa Region in Japan. She has a frog theme in her design but doesn’t actually control frogs. She just likes them. She is usually depicted in fan works punishing cirno, an ice fairy that likes to freeze frogs.

The Engineer is a soft-spoken, amiable Texan from Bee Cave, Texas, USA with an interest in all mechanical things. He specializes in constructing and maintaining Buildings that provide support to his team, rather than fighting at the front lines, making him the most suitable for defense. The Engineer's various gadgets include the Sentry Gun, an automated turret that fires at any enemy in range, the Dispenser, a device that restores the health and ammunition of nearby teammates, and Teleporters that quickly transport players from point A to point B. Because the Engineer's ingenious devices are under constant threat from explosives and devious enemy Spies, a good Engineer must keep his gear under a watchful eye and under repair with his Wrench at all times. When the Engineer needs to get his hands dirty, his trio of generic yet capable weapons, along with the assistance of his helpful hardware, make him more than capable of holding his own in a fight. If need be, the Engineer can even pick up and haul constructed buildings to redeploy them in more favorable locations. While usually viewed as a defensive class, the Engineer has a selection of high-tech weapons that allow him to destroy projectiles or to build faster-deploying, less damaging Sentry Guns, which give him great utility at the front lines too. His Teleporters are also a key point to both the offensive and defensive team's success, allowing slower, heavier classes to reach the front-lines quicker.
As we all know, Kirby is one of Nintendo’s mascot franchises. Even though it may not sell as well as the others, it is still beloved by many (and the sales still give enough support for HAL to continue making games). When Masahiro Sakurai left HAL, the Kirby series was in a slightly dark area of sorts (depending on your view of the games at the time). However, the Kirby series then received a new director: Shinya Kumazaki. With a new director came along a new twist... lore. Really, really deep and well-written lore. The new lore connected nearly everything in the series. Us Kirby fans LOVED the lore, and craved for more of it. With Star Allies being the most lore-heavy game to date, I decided to talk about all of Kirby lore as we know it. At least, all as of now. Lord help us when the next game releases. First off, let’s start with the most iconic lore characters: the ancients. The ancients, as their name implies, are people from long, long ago that are no longer around (or so we think). The ancients are iconic in the lore for being affiliated with almost everything. Let’s take a look at their history, shall we? The only planet confirmed to have been inhabited by the ancients is Halcandra, which is located in another dimension. Now, that’s not to say they didn’t inhabit Kirby’s dimension, as several of the ancients’ creations can be found there. Regardless, the ancients were highly advanced in science, as they created many legendary pieces of technology. According to Magolor, the Lor Starcutter, a ship that can traverse through space and time, was crafted by the ancients using an incredible power. He also states that they created “clockwork stars that soar the cosmos” using the same power. Many have presumed these stars to be Novas, clockwork cat faces that can grant wishes. This was seemingly proven in Kirby: Planet Robobot, where the final boss of the game, Star Dream, fused with the Access Ark, revealing it to actually be a Nova. According to Haltmann, his company analyzed the most advanced civilizations in the known universe and used blueprints they found in order to reactivate Star Dream. The Lor and the Novas were two examples of their skill in science, but they were also skilled in magic as well. Also according to Magolor, the ancients crafted “mysterious items that can bring dreams to life.” These are presumed to be the Star Rods, which power the Fountains of Dreams. Each fountain is responsible for giving every inhabitant in their respective planet good dreams. They also created the Master Crown, a crown that grants its wearer limitless power. However, the crown itself appears to be sentient, as it takes control of Magolor’s body and transforms him into a manifestation of itself. In this form, Magolor notably has an eye in his mouth. Many have thought the crown was Dark Matter because of this. While almost everyone else thought that wasn’t the case, those who said it was just might have been correct. We’ll get to that later. Anyway, those two are examples of the ancients’ skill in magic. Slightly off-topic, but since the ancients lived on Halcandra, it is likely that they made Egg Engines, and in turn, Metal General, which the Haltmann Works Company probably used the blueprints of in order to make the Security Force. The ancients also entrusted Landia, a four-headed dragon, in guarding the legendary treasures they made on that planet. However, that’s not even close to all the information about them... As Kirby Star Allies is the most lore-heavy game as of now, they wouldn’t dare to not include the ancients. As we all know, Hyness, the main antagonist of the game, dropped a lore bomb in the form of having a stroke and spouting it out at light speed. Given that the English localization butchered this lore bomb, we’ll take a look at the original Japanese version. According to Hyness, the people of his clan were powerful wielders of magic, and were friends with people who used the power of science. Hmm, sounds familiar. The people of his clan were also worshippers of a matter most dark. Anyway, one day, their science-using friends turned on them in fear of their power and banished them to the edge of the galaxy. As if that wasn’t enough, they then subsequently erased all but a sliver of their very existence from history itself. So yeah, most of them are dead. I think Hyness is like, a descendant from this sliver, but I have no idea since it’s totally unclear whether he’s the last survivor or a descendant. Anyway, he also states that his clan was responsible for stopping a galactic crisis of sorts. Why am I telling you about Hyness’s clan? Well, it’s been theorized that Hyness’s clan and these science-users WERE the ancients, and it kind of makes sense. Think of it this way, the science-users build the base of the creation (specifically the Lor and the Novas), and Hyness’s clan imbues them with the “incredible power,” in other words, magic. That would explain how the Lor can traverse space and time and how the Novas can grant wishes. The clan most likely also made the Star Rods and the FoD, which have more to do with magic than science. Now, moving on to the Master Crown. It is theorized that it has something to do with Dark Matter, right? Given that the clan were worshippers of a matter most dark, it could be possible that they made the crown using Dark Matter. That would explain why Void Termina, the final boss of Star Allies and the reincarnation of the implied ancestor of Dark Matter, uses a replica of it in his boss fight. Speaking of Void Termina, his normal self, simply known as Void, is reportedly spoken about in several books that were written by the ancients after witnessing his starlike radiance. One of these books is likely the book of legend, which basically called Void a god. This book is presumed to be written by Hyness’s clan, due to him saying that everyone else thought it was a fairytale. And so, that is all the information surrounding the ancients so far. The RPK-16 light machine gun (the number 16 indicates the year 2016, when the development first started) is Kalashnikov's response to the "Tokar-2" program, where it competed against Degtyaryov's submission. In 2018, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation have signed a contract concerning the procurement of the RPK-16, and is expected to take over the role of the RPK-74 in the Russian Armed Forces.[13] The RPK-16 is chambered in 5.45×39mm which features the traditional Kalashnikov gas-operated long-stroke piston system, and shares several novel technical and ergonomic features derived from the AK-12 program. Such as a Picatinny rail on the top of the receiver for mounting various optical sights and on the bottom of the handguard to mount the Picatinny rail mounted detachable bipod instead of the fixed bipod of the RPK-74, an ergonomic pistol grip and a folding buttstock, and two main barrel lengths; a 550 mm (21.7 in) long barrel (when it is applied or configured for the light machine gun role) and a 370 mm (14.6 in) short barrel (when it is applied or configured for the assault rifle role).[14] Its design enables it to have an interchangeable barrels that can easily be removed, and the ability to quickly attach a detachable suppressor. It has a combat weight of 6 kg (13.23 lb), a full-length of 1,076 mm (42.4 in), a cyclic rate of fire of 700 rounds per minute, an accuracy range of 800 m (870 yd). It primarily uses a 95-round drum magazine and is backwards compatible with box magazines from the AK-74, AK-12 and RPK-74.[15] After receiving feedback on the performance of the weapon, the Kalashnikov Concern has begun development on the RPL-20 (20 indicating 2020) belt-fed light machine gun also chambered in 5.45×39mm and with a very similar rate of fire. As Sonic and Tails defeat their nemesis once more, the battle has already taken its toll on the Death Egg during a critical point of its launch, and the space fortress plummets back to Angel Island once again while Sonic and Tails watch from afar.[6] Immediately after, Sonic and Tails fall to Mushroom Hill. Meanwhile, the Death Egg crash lands into Angel Island's volcano, still intact enough for Dr. Eggman to salvage it and re-launch it again. The Minigun, known affectionately as "Sasha",[1][2][3] is the default primary weapon for the Heavy. It is an enormous Gatling-style machine gun with a large rotating barrel, complete with a large white underslung ammunition case and two handles.
Firing four bullets at the same time at a rate of ten times a second, the Minigun can quickly rip through opponents at short range. However, the damage falls off quickly over long distances and the bullets are subject to a wide cone of fire.

The Shovel is the default melee weapon for the Soldier. It is a stylized hand-held entrenching tool with a splintered handle. The Flamethrower is the default primary weapon for the Pyro. It is a long metal pole, connected by a hose to a propane tank. The tank is attached to the pole via fastening bands. A continually lit pilot light can be seen at the nozzle. The trigger is made out of a team-colored gas pump handle.
Upon pressing primary fire, the weapon expels a stream of roughly 33.3 large flame particles per second in a narrow cone, at a cost of 12.5 ammunition per second. Flame particles are not obstructed by enemies or buildings owned by the opposing team, making it ideal for attacking multiple enemies. The range of fire is very limited (approximately 340 Hammer Units when fired while stationary), but is capable of dealing heavy damage in close quarters.
An enemy only takes damage from any of a single Flamethrower's particles once every 0.075 seconds. Unlike most weapons, the Flamethrower's base damage is scaled based on the age of the oldest touching flame particle, not distance from the target. This scale begins at 100% for new particles and decreases as they age, down to 50%. The weapon's damage also experiences a ramp-up based on how long an enemy is attacked. Damage begins at 50% and increases up to 100% in approximately 0.9 seconds. If the target is ever not in contact with any flame particles, the ramp-up resets. The ramp-up is separate for each enemy being attacked. Buildings are unaffected by the ramp-up. Critical hits are affected by both the age scaling and the damage ramp-up.
Secondary fire causes the weapon to deliver a compression blast which deflects enemy projectiles, pushes opponents away, and extinguishes burning teammates. Deflected enemy projectiles deal mini-crit damage if they would not already be doing critical damage. If so, the deflected projectile deals critical damage. Each compression blast costs 20 ammunition, so it is possible to use 10 Compression blasts before needing to retrieve more ammo. Unlike the weapon's primary fire, the user can still use compression blasts if the weapon is directly in contact with a wall.
Apart from direct damage, the Flamethrower also sets targets on fire, causing the target to burn and take additional damage for a short time. Pyros are immune to afterburn, but still take damage directly from the Flamethrower itself. A Spy disguised as a Pyro still receives afterburn. Fire can be extinguished by a Medic's Medi Gun, a Dispenser, submerging in water, friendly Jarate, friendly Mad Milk, friendly Gas Passer, a friendly compression blast, the secondary attack of a friendly Manmelter, a shot from a friendly Sydney Sleeper, charging with the Chargin' Targe, Splendid Screen, or Tide Turner, the Spy-cicle's special ability, the Dead Ringer's special ability, or any type of health pack. Afterburn from the Flamethrower reduces healing from Mediguns, Dispensers, and the Amputator by between 20% and 100%, with the reduction increasing in an inverse proportion to the amount of healing the item is giving. It also reduces the effects of the Vaccinator's Ubercharge by 20%.
Using the primary fire of the Flamethrower on a friendly Huntsman-wielding Sniper lights his arrow on fire, and an enemy hit by this arrow afterward is ignited; however, the Pyro who lit the arrow does not receive assist credit. The Shotgun is the default secondary weapon for the Soldier, Pyro, and Heavy, and the default primary weapon for the Engineer. It is a pump-action, sawed-off shotgun.
The Shotgun deals high damage at close range. However, its damage falloff at range and low accuracy makes it weak in long-ranged firefights.
Usage and strategies vary between classes:
Soldiers often use the Shotgun when they are out of rockets and cannot take the time to reload, when in close-quarters combat where explosions would cause self-damage, or when fighting enemy Pyros who are attempting to airblast their rockets.
Pyros often use the Shotgun to engage targets outside the range of their Flame Thrower, to deal a finishing blow to an already-burning target, or when fighting underwater (where the Flame Thrower is unable to be used).
Heavies often use the Shotgun when there is no time to spin up the Minigun, when they need to be able to run and jump during a fight, or when the Minigun's loud motor sounds might alert enemies to their position.
Engineers often use the Shotgun to defend buildings from nearby enemies, to help a Sentry Gun finish off a target, or to Spy-check suspicious players.
The Shotgun's first shell fires at least one pellet straight down the crosshair before "bullet spread" takes effect. When random bullet spread is disabled, the pellets instead spread in a fixed three-by-three grid pattern, with two pellets overlapping in the center of the grid.
Taunting as Pyro with the Shotgun equipped results in the Hadouken kill taunt. The Rocket Launcher is the default primary weapon for the Soldier. It is a stylized rocket-launching device with wooden grips, a large front sight, and a wide exhaust port.
The Rocket Launcher holds up to four rockets, firing them as projectiles at a speed of around 1100 Hammer units per second (roughly 76 km/h or 47 mph). Rockets travel in a straight line, unaffected by gravity, exploding on contact with any surface or player. Rocket explosions deal damage in a set radius; damage inflicted decreases the further the distance from the center of the explosion, with a player taking only 50% of the normal damage at the very edge of the blast radius. Rockets also have damage falloff over long distances. Players killed by rockets most likely explode into gibs.
As the explosion from rockets causes knockback, an experienced player can launch opponents into the air by aiming at their feet, causing them to take fall damage or potentially pushing them into environmental hazards. The player can also use the knockback in order to perform a rocket jump by firing at the ground beneath themselves, catapulting themselves vertically and/or horizontally. Crouching during the explosion increases the height and length of the jump while also decreasing the self-inflicted damage. This technique can be used to reach areas inaccessible to other classes, quickly advance, or escape from a bad situation.

As we all know, Kirby is one of Nintendo’s mascot franchises. Even though it may not sell as well as the others, it is still beloved by many (and the sales still give enough support for HAL to continue making games). When Masahiro Sakurai left HAL, the Kirby series was in a slightly dark area of sorts (depending on your view of the games at the time). However, the Kirby series then received a new director: Shinya Kumazaki. With a new director came along a new twist... lore. Really, really deep and well-written lore. The new lore connected nearly everything in the series. Us Kirby fans LOVED the lore, and craved for more of it. With Star Allies being the most lore-heavy game to date, I decided to talk about all of Kirby lore as we know it. At least, all as of now. Lord help us when the next game releases.
First off, let’s start with the most iconic lore characters: the ancients.
The ancients, as their name implies, are people from long, long ago that are no longer around (or so we think). The ancients are iconic in the lore for being affiliated with almost everything. Let’s take a look at their history, shall we? The only planet confirmed to have been inhabited by the ancients is Halcandra, which is located in another dimension. Now, that’s not to say they didn’t inhabit Kirby’s dimension, as several of the ancients’ creations can be found there. Regardless, the ancients were highly advanced in science, as they created many legendary pieces of technology. According to Magolor, the Lor Starcutter, a ship that can traverse through space and time, was crafted by the ancients using an incredible power. He also states that they created “clockwork stars that soar the cosmos” using the same power. Many have presumed these stars to be Novas, clockwork cat faces that can grant wishes. This was seemingly proven in Kirby: Planet Robobot, where the final boss of the game, Star Dream, fused with the Access Ark, revealing it to actually be a Nova. According to Haltmann, his company analyzed the most advanced civilizations in the known universe and used blueprints they found in order to reactivate Star Dream. The Lor and the Novas were two examples of their skill in science, but they were also skilled in magic as well. Also according to Magolor, the ancients crafted “mysterious items that can bring dreams to life.” These are presumed to be the Star Rods, which power the Fountains of Dreams. Each fountain is responsible for giving every inhabitant in their respective planet good dreams. They also created the Master Crown, a crown that grants its wearer limitless power. However, the crown itself appears to be sentient, as it takes control of Magolor’s body and transforms him into a manifestation of itself. In this form, Magolor notably has an eye in his mouth. Many have thought the crown was Dark Matter because of this. While almost everyone else thought that wasn’t the case, those who said it was just might have been correct. We’ll get to that later. Anyway, those two are examples of the ancients’ skill in magic. Slightly off-topic, but since the ancients lived on Halcandra, it is likely that they made Egg Engines, and in turn, Metal General, which the Haltmann Works Company probably used the blueprints of in order to make the Security Force. The ancients also entrusted Landia, a four-headed dragon, in guarding the legendary treasures they made on that planet.
However, that’s not even close to all the information about them...
As Kirby Star Allies is the most lore-heavy game as of now, they wouldn’t dare to not include the ancients. As we all know, Hyness, the main antagonist of the game, dropped a lore bomb in the form of having a stroke and spouting it out at light speed. Given that the English localization butchered this lore bomb, we’ll take a look at the original Japanese version. According to Hyness, the people of his clan were powerful wielders of magic, and were friends with people who used the power of science. Hmm, sounds familiar. The people of his clan were also worshippers of a matter most dark. Anyway, one day, their science-using friends turned on them in fear of their power and banished them to the edge of the galaxy. As if that wasn’t enough, they then subsequently erased all but a sliver of their very existence from history itself. So yeah, most of them are dead. I think Hyness is like, a descendant from this sliver, but I have no idea since it’s totally unclear whether he’s the last survivor or a descendant. Anyway, he also states that his clan was responsible for stopping a galactic crisis of sorts. Why am I telling you about Hyness’s clan? Well, it’s been theorized that Hyness’s clan and these science-users WERE the ancients, and it kind of makes sense. Think of it this way, the science-users build the base of the creation (specifically the Lor and the Novas), and Hyness’s clan imbues them with the “incredible power,” in other words, magic. That would explain how the Lor can traverse space and time and how the Novas can grant wishes. The clan most likely also made the Star Rods and the FoD, which have more to do with magic than science. Now, moving on to the Master Crown. It is theorized that it has something to do with Dark Matter, right? Given that the clan were worshippers of a matter most dark, it could be possible that they made the crown using Dark Matter. That would explain why Void Termina, the final boss of Star Allies and the reincarnation of the implied ancestor of Dark Matter, uses a replica of it in his boss fight. Speaking of Void Termina, his normal self, simply known as Void, is reportedly spoken about in several books that were written by the ancients after witnessing his starlike radiance. One of these books is likely the book of legend, which basically called Void a god. This book is presumed to be written by Hyness’s clan, due to him saying that everyone else thought it was a fairytale. And so, that is all the information surrounding the ancients so far. The RPK-16 light machine gun (the number 16 indicates the year 2016, when the development first started) is Kalashnikov's response to the "Tokar-2" program, where it competed against Degtyaryov's submission. Following the West Side Island incident, Dr. Eggman's Death Egg falls from orbit and crashes onto Angel Island along the way, thus pushing the island into the ocean and creating a giant tsunami. Fortunately, the island does not sink into the sea; instead, it stays slightly above the sea as if nothing has happened. Having survived the crash, Eggman is aware that the Chaos Emeralds are somewhere on Angel Island. He also detects the energy of a giant Chaos Emerald on the island, which he can use to re-launch the Death Egg. With this new plan in mind, the doctor starts to build a base on Angel Island while catching the local Animals to turn them into Badniks.[5]
Days later, Dr. Eggman meets Knuckles the Echidna, the warrior guardian of Angel Island. Aware of the echidna's position and duty, the doctor falsely tells him that he is a kind scientist who has come to "investigate" the Death Egg. He also "warns" him about Sonic, whom he says is an evil hedgehog that plans to steal the island's Master Emerald. Believing Eggman, Knuckles teams up with him to stop Sonic. Meanwhile, the blue hedgehog is relaxing somewhere away from Angel Island until his friend, Tails, detects a Chaos Emerald energy reaction out at sea with his Jewel Radar. As the fox ponders if this reaction has something to do with the tsunami that appeared days ago, Sonic finds a ring with ancient inscriptions on it that gives him a strong sense of nostalgia and prompts him to set out on another adventure. Eventually, the duo heads out to investigate the incident out at sea.[5]

Arriving with Tails on Angel Island in the Tornado, Sonic uses the seven Chaos Emeralds he had acquired in their prior adventure to turn into Super Sonic and begins exploring the island while his friend follows him. Shortly after the hedgehog arrives on the island however, Knuckles pulls off a cheap shot on him from below, causing him to lose his Super State and drop all the Chaos Emeralds. The echidna proceeds to quickly take the Emeralds before running off, but not before taunting Sonic with a laugh before fleeing to hide the Emeralds around the island.[6] Now having to retrieve the Emeralds again and stop Dr. Eggman, Sonic and Tails make their way across the island, dealing with the doctor's and Knuckles' attacks along the way. Eventually, they arrive at the Launch Base, Eggman's base where he has almost finished re-building the Death Egg. At the end of this Zone, the spaceship is ready to take off. To reach it, the duo hitch a ride on a nearby Egg Mobile, though Knuckles keeps them from proceeding with it. Fortunately, local tremors causes him to lose his balance and fall down from the metal support pillar he is on, allowing Sonic and Tails free passage. In the end, the heroes manage to jump onto a platform on the Death Egg just as it starts to take off. There, Eggman returns to defeat Sonic through excessive force with the Egg Rocket. As Sonic and Tails defeat their nemesis once more, the battle has already taken its toll on the Death Egg during a critical point of its launch, and the space fortress plummets back to Angel Island once again while Sonic and Tails watch from afar.[6]
Immediately after, Sonic and Tails fall to Mushroom Hill. Meanwhile, the Death Egg crash lands into Angel Island's volcano, still intact enough for Dr. Eggman to salvage it and re-launch it again. Aware of this, their heroes continue their mission to destroy the massive spaceship. However, their quest is suddenly interrupted when they spot Knuckles appearing from a hidden door in the thicket. After carefully examining the vicinity to make sure the coast is clear, the echidna disappears into the forest. Once sure that he is gone, the hedgehog and the fox emerge from their hiding place and open the door from where Knuckles came out of with a nearby Switch. Inside the hidden room, they are caught in an overflowing, dazzling light. Taking a closer look inside it, they see a Super Ring. Unable to quell their curiosity about what this ring could be, they touch it, causing them to be taken to the Hidden Palace, a giant solemn hall with a pristine altar. There, they see eight pillars with the Master Emerald and some other large stones, which use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to become inert Super Emeralds. Filled with questions, Sonic and Tails decide to set off to power the Super Emeralds in full, stop Eggman from re-launching the Death Egg again, and uncover the mystery of Hidden Palace Zone.[7]

Making their way through Angel Island, Sonic and Tails arrive in Lava Reef, the location of the Death Egg. In an attempt to stop the heroes, the space fortress uses its laser eyes to reactivate the volcano. Surviving this attack, the duo arrives in Hidden Palace Zone again, where they have a battle against Knuckles. After the echidna is defeated, though, he and the heroes witness Eggman stealing the Master Emerald (and ignoring the Super Emeralds) with the Egg Mobile. Enraged, Knuckles tries to stop his former comrade, only for the latter to electrocute him and escape. Realizing that the doctor had lied to him and that Sonic and Tails were actually trying to save Angel Island all along, the echidna decides to befriend them and while exhausted from his injuries, takes the heroes to Sky Sanctuary, where Sonic and Tails continue onward, dealing with Mecha Sonic Mk. II along the way. They soon manage to get onboard the Death Egg as it continues its ascent into the stratosphere.
