  • Another busy one from a deep clean on the Eazypod and count of how much k1 micro is in there!
Also first time use of the popular amongst koi hobbiest Pond Detox by Lincolnshire Health.
And the outdoor pond gets a dose of TAP no more blanket weed.

Interesting video. It is hard to work out what the best products are for the pond. 🤔 I tend to watch, listen, and then I still go with my gut feeling it's working so far😅 Cheers Keith 🐟

If you boil the K1 with the water level so high that it comes up around the 3 channels and spills into the outer chamber, (like yours was), it doesn't matter how long you bubble it will never get clean because it's just recirculating filthy water from the outer chamber back into the K1. You have to lower the level in the filter so the centre EZ section is not overflowing into the 3 channels, then drain and repeat.
Think about it - every bit of water that's bubbled out the top is replaced by filthy water drawn back in through the mesh to replace it and so it goes on.
I have run a EZpod for nearly 2 years and it took me a while to find this!
Hope that makes sense? If not message me if you like but please try it!

I can remember on the old pond having to run the air for ages to fully clear the K1 in the pod, I used to have a metal bar too that I used to use to manually agitate the media😫 they do the job though👍
In regards to the PDF, I use it on the regular. Mainly to strip the water column of metals from the supply water. Now obviously this can be measured, all you need is the correct heavy metal tester, such as copper and you can physically see what benefit it has, as we know metals are not good for the fish. If you speak to Paula, she will tell you exactly what it does as everything is tested on Laboratory equipment 😃

Hi, I recently learned to give the pod longer on the bubble, just got to remember to turn it back on though 😮😂. PDF sounds good and only using to mop up any residual unwanted metals. I think though on the whole us koi keepers are fools and easy fodder for these products 😊😂. PDF may well be a keeper, I'm only using on the indoor 5k, not the 2k or outdoor so I'm interested to see if there's any noticeable difference. That said, the outdoor pond in on RO and rain 😅

@KoiKicks oh yes, don't forget to turn it back on😅😂
I used to be forever suffering with random flicking & flashing and could never nail it down to anything so was always left stumped. I started using PDF, just every couple of weeks and hey ho, the fish are completely different, and I do believe their skin looks better for it. Can I prove Detox was the answer, No, but it's sure one hell of a coincidence.😊👍

Is that a 10k vario pump with 2” pipework in and out of the eazypod?

Hey, it was on 2" on the 2k when I purchased it all second hand. It's 1.5 inch returning to the pond x 3. Thanks
