The powers in the comic weren't even temporary so your comment isn't even spoilers it's just false. In the comics the entire boys took a modified compound v for soldiers so no flashy powers just durability and strength

In the comics A-train does die but not in the scene with homelander we see in the trailer he is killed on a rooftop by hughie (jack quaid's character) as revenge for the death of his girlfriend. The scene with homelander is a direct reference to the comics where homelander is prepared to kill him for raising his hands in self defense after homelander is scolding him for messing around during an important 7 meeting.
