But do put some salt and black pepper on the egg mixure then wash the yellow petals before dipping the yellow petals on egg mixure and fry em in medium heat oil (not too hot if you don't want to burn yourself.) And with rice you'll continue on eating until all the petal fry are gone. It's yummy.

We do this with our passionfruit and pumpkins it works very well. Being in a very dry area often there is a lack of pollinators so they must be sorted manually

As long as you allow the bees to have a set schedule and don’t get in their way during their work than all the flowers that are good will be pollinated. They don’t miss any unless they can’t get to it. They don’t like bugs like wasps around either. They will fight with them instead of pollinating so you need to make their environment as safe and as open as possible and always have good flowers and things bees like to attract them and keep them near. I am still getting squash of the same plants I planted in the spring and it’s August. I won the battle against the squash bugs using only my fingers a flash light and an empty Dr. Pepper bottle to put them in. The bees do not like poisons like pesticides and other sprays. They will not come if the plant’s pollen tastes weird. So nature works best as long and you are knowledgeable and do some key steps in the beginning and keep the pests to a minimum.

Look close at the male flower (the one he ripped the petals off of and then used like a paintbrush), the fluffy pollen is basically like sperm. The second flower, the female, is flatter and doesn’t have pollen on it originally. Normally bees or other pollinators would spend time at the male flower, end up with some pollen rubbed off on them in one way or another, and then coincidentally end up at the female flower later on, and manage to pollinate it with the pollen that was stuck to it. This video is a crude but highly efficient reproduction of that, no pun intended.
No problem with my pumpkins. Got a voulunteer this year &have 3 growing so far. Planted Mammoth sunflowers for the bees to help pollinate them. I have hand pollinated squash before but did not close the flowers afterwards. Thanks for the tips. 😃👍

I don't quite remember how my Mom used to do it but I know she used to cook them for us as a nice treat. I think they were dipped in better and deep fried. Possibly with cheese or something in them.

I will have to look into that. I plan on growing pumpkins this year.
I also plan on growing other squash and have heard good things about zucchini flowers too.
@@kraziecatcladyyeah it's not just Mexico , pumpkin flowers and related species are used in many recipes around the globe.
I don't quite remember how my Mom used to do it but I know she used to cook them for us as a nice treat.
I think they were dipped in better and deep fried. Possibly with cheese or something in them.

@@iamshredder3587yeah at our place we stuff the pumpkin flower with fish or anything you like then dip it in a batter made of lentils. Lastly fry them to crisp. And that is so delicious... 😋😋
I have been witnessing this since my childhood. My mom used to pollinate one flower with the another. 🇧🇩
