    Yes, that's EXACTLY how my brothers and I felt about reading Brisingr! Actually, the highlight of the Eragon series for me was reading it with my brothers, and laughing together at it! Good times!

      That’s amazing that the nostalgia is just as much about your family reading it as it was the book (and I’m glad I’m not alone with thoughts on it!!).

    I started the Iron Legacy series because I saw you talking about it and I’m loving it. I just started book two. Super excited to keep going with this one!

      That is so cool - thanks for letting me know! I'm so glad to hear you're liking it! It's so wildly different. I can't wait to read more from the author.

    A two part book...ahhh my ocd! I would need a 'Here is written the first part of this tale..." at the beginning. Haha. Great reviews, as always. I agree too many times to mention them all :)

      Thank you! Yeah, I'm glad I figured that out before diving in because I would've been upset when it didn't "end." lol

    Great video Niki! I’m so glad you liked Slow Productivity. It’s been on my list, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

      Thank you! I think it has almost as many good takeaways as Digital Minimalism, so hopefully you like it as much as I did!

    I just read Foul Days and I liked it a lot. Very fast paced and engaging. It’s like if you added Slavic folklore to Dresden.

      I just finished it also - so good!! It was one of those books for me that was just pure fun. I can't wait to see what she does next with the conclusion book!

    Hi Niki. I decided to focus on how you do your mini-reviews, you know, for research purposes. I think you do a great job, i felt like a got a really good overview without getting any details of the plot. I think I maybe do too much of the latter. Shaping up to be a great month of reading!

      Thank you! It’s funny, I sometimes think I need more plot-specific details in my recaps, but haven’t gotten into a rhythm with it. I usually like to go into books completely blind as well, so that also shapes how I talk about them.

    I am also reading the Shadows of the Apt this year. I'm on book #5 now. I set City of last chances aside on my first attempt though I was listening to the audio. I might try reading the ebook eventually.

      The physical read was a lot better, but honestly even more distance and actually having finished the book now, I’m not sure it worth the effort over the countless other things. At least Apt is still going well!

    Since I have tons of books of differing page lengths I found I can manage to squeeze quite a few books in every month sometimes up to 10

      It’s so good when you finish a month and have a lot of books to show for it! When I cram in some nonfiction and random rereads I get closer to that, but currently my tome reading is keeping me consistently around 7.

    Ouh, I just ordered Deep Work from Newport, because it was recommended to me. Now you say Slow Productivity would be better. Should I better return Deep Work for this one? ^^

    • @TheObsessiveBookseller
      @TheObsessiveBookseller  3 месяца назад +1

      Deep Work could sing to you. It really could! It just wasn’t a fit for what I wanted and needed at the time and so I missed the lack of some practical applications. but I’m not sure practical applications were abundant in his other works either, I just found more inspiration with them as a whole. All that said, I think Deep Work could be a good starting point that eventually evolves into Slow Productivity. you’ll have to let me know!

    I think having read Paolini when I was an adult it was just meh for me :) Read the first one and never read any of his others. I read fourth wing, not sure when I'll get around to Iron Flame. Otherwise read Winterlost happily and now binging some books by Lola Glass because it looked interesting on KU and engaging enough to binge silly UF romance :);

      Wintet Lost! That’s great - I usually read those so close to release date but it’ll be something to look forward to in a few months when my schedule slows down. I like silly UF romance. :)

      @@TheObsessiveBookseller Yeah; I binged 8 silly UF romances in 3 days; so easy reads.
