You usually wouldn't say much about a racing roster, but by god, Stewart, Rudd, Wallace, Gordon, Nemechek, Harvick, Johnson, Busch, Burton, Nadeau, Labonte, Martin, Earnhardt Jr, Elliot, Newman, Waltrip. Absolutely stacked.
Nothing comes close to the 90s roster. The best drivers of the best era. The level of competition was crazy. Could easily say atleast 15 guys a week had real chances of winning if not more.

Better than the new Nascar games sadly. Nascar itself really peaked around this time and went downhill since.
Why is the engine sound on these games so weak. I have NASCAR heat and the sound sucks too. NASCAR 2000 was better with the engine sound. This is the only complain I have of these NASCAR games. They need to do something about it. This reason alone is why I did not buy any more.
@@carlosb1 Part of it was the move to the newer gen cars IRL. The Gen 4 cars that the older games like '04 had sounded much better.
Ima Popo the older cars and games sounded terrible tho
Nascar Thunder 2004 is the only Nascar game I have played and enjoyed.

2005 was fun to start in mods and work your way up
To this day it is my absolute favorite racing game. Many hours spent playing this! Wish I knew where to buy a PS2 and the game

i kept all my 2003 thru 2006 and (actually just bought 2006 3 yrs ago for $3 ) my fav though is 2005 starting in the mods and working my way up just recently found out about dirt to daytona having fun with tht atm
The Pontiac Grand Prix pace car is my favorite from General Motors in 2005 to 2008.

I play this game almost every day on my uncle's PS2
It would be cool if they did a re-release of this and chase for the cup. Both the best games they ever came out with. Much like actual NASCAR this franchise went downhill after this.

Why do people compare this with NR2003? That was meant as a semi-accurate (and by that, I mean surprisingly accurate) simulator, whereas this was aimed for the casual racing fan. Everyone has entitlement to their own taste. That said, I like both.

It's weird it never released for GameCube.
It was too large to fit on the mini discs that the GameCube used without cutting content
The next game and the one before it both was on GameCube, this also should have been on there

I got Nascar Thunder 2003 but after seeing this I kinda want to get this too, all I had for years was a few mediocre games and Dirt to Daytona which still gets boring after a while tbh

Additionally, though, why censor the Hooters logo on Alan Kulwicki and not the other guy
They censored coors light on sterling marlin and miller on rusty and mark martin is supposed to be viagra
Kulwicki is a different case - seems like the Hooters sponsor license applied only to the "other guy" (Brett Bodine) since they're negotiated on per team basis.
