Dang...you can tell it's an authentic Ps2 running the game and not an emulator because the splash screen actually takes about 10 seconds to load instead of 2 or 3. I once waited for over 3 hours trying to get my scratched version of Vice City past the loading screen. It worked once in a while.
Greates NASCAR game of all time. The first one I played too thankfully. The soundtrack was great as was so many other ps2 games. I dream of having another NASCAR game like this where it actually has a presentation before the race with the announcers and national anthem. Also when you win and get pushed into victory lane with your team and hop out the car splashing a drink all over the place. This game was top notch. 2k does such a great job with presentation but EA not so much anymore. And Nascar itself is a dying franchise when it comes to fans sadly so smaller companies create the games and come nowhere close to this level of presentation 😢. I do like coming back to this game for these reasons as well as the drivers I grew up watching as a kid. Go Jeff Gordon & MTJ!

This game, NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup, NASCAR Thunder 2003, NASCAR Thunder 2002, and NASCAR 2001, should be released in Europe back then.
