  • Kissing the Aconcagua: The new Airbus #H145 set its skids down on the #Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Southern Hemisphere, culminating at 6,962 metres (22,840 feet). This was the first time a twin-engine helicopter landed at this altitude, confirming the performance and the extensive flight envelope of the new H145.

    Congratulations to D-HADW! Respect for the pilots - but also a "bravo" for the video crew. A runner in the snow, "We kissed the mountain". Not a special situation for non-aviators. But the film manages to implement this as an absolute milestone with great emotionality. This is how video productions have to be!

    Airbus always seem to be just a couple of steps ahead, in any aviation sector. Well done, great quality video, absolutely stunning helicopter

    It would be really great to save lives by performing high altitude mountain rescues with these Helicopters 🚁👍

    Quizás esté yo equivocado pero lo que se ve en el video no es que toquen "cumbre" sino que aterrizan unos metros por debajo. La diferencia no es trivial, como sabe cualquier piloto, porque es lade estar al abrigo de la fuerte corriente de viento de la cumbre o quedar al resguardo del mismo. ¿Me equivoco? Disculpen si es así. Pero, si estoy en lo cierto, ustedes no han hecho ninguna hazaña, señores pilotos.

      Due to the Vortex created by the very strong wind

    • @jaytrock3217
      @jaytrock3217 3 года назад

      Look at 7:57 they are well below the summit with their kiss. Plus they say it landed 9:40. I don't consider that a landing. The Everest one was much more impressive.

    • @guiyo9896
      @guiyo9896 3 года назад

      @@jaytrock3217 well below ? 20 meters or 0,3% of the mountain height... please just enjoy the action and try to aprehand the risk that was taken in the worst period of the year to do this record. It was certainly not a question of power or capability of the aircraft as if done in the summer, they could have shutdown the aircraft and drink champagne up there.
