      Yup, same! And now feeling the effects of it in my lower back. I switched to a trap bar and that helped a lot, but now I want to try conventional dl’s

    Don't listen to these haters bro, they assume that everybody has the same body and range of motion. Us dudes with longer torsos have to find a hybrid between conventional and sldl usually. If we try sldl with super stiff legs our shoulders form a damn awning over the bar and it throws us outa whack.

      I get back pain from conventional but never from the others, I feel more comfortable with still leg, I’d it bad to only do stiff leg and Romanian?

    • @luhole
      @luhole 3 года назад +3

      @@david7101 nope, they could just be better suited to your anthropometry. Conventional tend to hurt my back but not sumos, as I have a long torso and short limbs.

      @david7101 3 года назад +1

      @@luhole ok cool thanks. Do you think it’s bad if I only do stiff leg? I don’t want to become imbalanced or anything

    • @luhole
      @luhole 3 года назад +3

      @@david7101 It really depends what your objectives are. You're never going to be able to lift as heavy with stiff leg as you are conventional or sumo because you're using far more of your back with this variation than you do with the others, but you can still apply progressive overload to this lift.

  • @sammyttheg412

    His sldl is wrong his legs aren't straight enough. Also stiff leg isn't more back dominant than normal if anything its less because you're using less load. The stiff has more empasis on the hamstrings

  • @EduardRitok
    @EduardRitok 3 года назад +9

    you didn't represented stiff legged deadlifts correctly at all.. you basically did romanian dl and in the other moment, you did conventional dl, while trying to represent stiff legged dl. you probably have very tight hamstrings , because stiff legged deadlifts means, that your legs must be more straight and STIFF. .. but you have tendency to bend your knees , which anullates the point of stiff legged deadlifts. .. also, that romanian deadlift needs a little bit deeper range of motion, you return a little too early.( probably because of tight hamstrings again) no offence tho... cheers

      Klokov is a good person to watch do stiff leg deadlift. That’s who I learnt from (online). You initiate the lift with your lower back and glutes right? You use less of your quads in a stiff vs a conventional.

  • @bradtraikos7434

    Your shoulders shouldn’t be stacked on top of the bar when conventional deadlifting. They should be slightly in front of the bar.

    • @RehabExplained
      @RehabExplained 4 года назад

      Depends what part of your shoulder. Your scapula should be over the bar.

  • @Charliemmafan
    @Charliemmafan 3 года назад +4

    You're not even doing stiff legged deadlifts right at all man because you're bending your knees way too much almost like a regular deadlift when your legs need to be kept a lot more straight during the entire movement.

    I am starting to think all of these in the end are bad for your back over time. People load so much weight that hinging at the waist is going to cause back problems down the road. I love these exercises and they do build you like no other. I have a love hate relationship.
