- All Star by Smash Mouth was the very first true Misairu's Orchestral Forces cover way back in September of 2016. This song had a deep impact on myself, and I was saddened by the sudden passing of Smash Mouth's former lead singer Steve Harwell. Years after my first iteration of All Star, I arranged this orchestral composition in tribute of Steve. Rest easy, you will always be an All Star in our hearts.

🎼 What is Misairu's Orchestral Forces? 🎼
Misairu's Orchestral Forces is a virtual band/orchestra. They are divided into instrument regiments commanded by sixteen fictional characters. They all answer to Misairu, and Raiko, both of whom don't exactly get along with each other too well. Despite this, they do their best to work together (to some extent) in order to bring you these defiantly epic orchestrations and symphonic operations.

I can imagine the entire animated character cast of Shrek, good and evil, joining hands around Steve, bringing him flowers and tokens of gratitude. As this song plays, they send him off with one last salute and a teary-eyed goodbye. You'll always be our All-Star, Steve Harwell. Rest in peace.

as a huge smash mouth fan i have a weird relationship with this song. i find it overshadows a lot of their great music that isn't shrek-adjacent. but it's 100% iconic, and this cover is lovely. great tribute.

This song is special to me. For someone who camped with scouts for a while. During an fall camping trip called the feast trip me and a couple of scouts sat around the campfire singing songs..We always played All stars..I always loved this song. Steve Harwell..Rest well
I feel like this captures the same mesmerizing magic we heard as kids when we heard this in Shrek for the first time.
You know, memes aside, it actually is quite a nice song when I really think about. It's about staying confident and liking yourself even when society around you considers you a loser, and staying optimistic and still having fun even when life kind of blows. That it's okay to be weird and different, because "only shooting stars break the mold." It's easy to see why they chose it for Shrek, but I also think it's endured as a song because we can all relate to it, especially with the current state of the world. Even when life gets hard, you can still choose to be an All Star and see glittering gold where ever you look.

I found this orchestra the other day, and now I’m in love. This piece adaptation sounds so good, the dynamics and articulation sound amazing with the piano, violin and low brass. The drums in the middle absolutely slap. Great work guys.
