Song for interlude please My absolute favorite performance by Matt corby It’s exciting to see someone wanting to go down that rabbit hole I hope you keep looking into his stuff He also did some garden performances for random gatherings in his early days that are also worth looking at
I paused your vid, went to the Matt's video, (subbed to him) listened, and then came back here for your reaction. 🙂I hope that's ok. I am going down the Matt Corby rabbit hole tonight! Thanks so much for introducing me to him. I love that after listening to you, I am beginning to understand what you are talking about when you break down vocal techniques! I'm so glad I found your channel.
Another amazing Australian artist is Guy Sebastian. Battle Scars ( Battle Scars on Anzac Day preformed for the home front). This was recorded live in his home studio. Absolute perfection
@@TimWelchVocalStudioexcellent! Looking forward to your reaction to Guy. Matt is phenomenal, anything from him is pure magic. Thank you for giving our Aussie talent some love Tim ❤
My favourite Australian male performer. So many colours and textures to his voice, and originality, plus multi instrumentalist. I have never heard one song of his I haven't enjoyed.
I was lucky enough to get to watch Matt work his craft between Australia Idol and this song blowing him up. He was the cover band at my local dive and i have never been prouder of someone I didn't actually personally know. Just saw him work his ass off becoming a real musician which is something a lot of people don't bother to keep doing when going on that show. I feel like I was watching Jeff Buckley live at Sin-e
Another great Australian artist to check out - Celia Pavey (her stage name is Vera Blue). She has an absolutely amazing voice and worth checking out both her originals and like a versions
Thank you, Another awesome video from you Matt is not just an amazing multi instrumentalist talent he is also a really nice guy. And it is on that note, I have a cool suggestion for you (if I’m not coming in too late for you to see this comment) that has a Matt Corby connection. Budjerah (I believe it is pronounced Bood-Jer-Rah) is a young Australian Indigenous man who auditioned for The Voice Aust in 2019. He did not making it past the blinds, but Matt Corby saw him and reached out and offered to become his mentor. I read back then that Matt said, coming runner up on Australian Idol at only 16yo he learned a lot lessons and a lot of them he learned the hard way. Matt could see that Budjerah had talent and wanted to help him with how to navigate his way through the industry. Therefore one song that you might like to consider to break down (if RUclips still won’t let you do proper first reactions 😢). would be Higher, Matt and Budjerah co wrote it. Otherwise I think his biggest hit so far was Therapy or Video Games? But he is due to release a new single any day now so plenty of options. Last year Budjerah got to open for Ed Sheeran’s Australian leg of his tour. So Matt sure knows how to mentor 😉
Welcome to the world of Matty C!!!! He is absolutely unbelievable in everything he does. His live performances are the most incredible displays of vocals ever. PLEASE react to more!!! Highly recommend -Chains cover for triple j -For Real at karma studios -Miracle Love at manchester cathedral -Song for interlude -trick of the light live
Outstanding analysis sir. for sure Australia punches well above its weight. my top 5 male vocalists... 1..Elvis 2..Matt Corby 3John Farnham 4 Jimmy Barnes 5 Devon Townsen. The top 3 are interchangeable. please check from matt corby Trick Of the light Song for interlude made of stone chains etc
Great reaction, thank you Tim. I really think you'd like hearing Little River Band. Would suggest "It's a long way there" (2022 remastered version). The vocal harmonies and instrumentation on that track is amazing. Another Aussie band that's a rabbit hole worth exploring. For more Matt Corby, "Song for interlude" live on the resolution tour will show some more of his diversity.
oooooh Tim!!!! Matt Corby!!! what a great suggestion they've left for you! Not a lot of people know of him and he is sooooo good too!! I haven't even seen you yet reacting to him but I know you gonna love him!
First of all! This is my first time watching one of your videos and wow! Brilliant, educational and so well explained. You have no idea how much more it adds when you have the talent yourself to sing and mimic the artists singing style. Some vocal coaches etc will review a song but not sing themselves but the fact you added those little bits is huge to me. Amazing artist in Matt and a brilliant reaction Tim! Could you please please do a video on John Farnham / Help live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra MSO (Beatles cover). In my opinion it has to be one of the most mind blowing live vocal performances ever recorded. John is Australia’s voice! ❤❤
Hey Michael, thanks for the comment! I actually reacted to it a couple weeks ago and it was completely blocked so I put it up on my Patreon. John is amazing!
Brilliant work mate! I was just over watching the John Farnham reaction. While you’re in Aussie performers, and control, give Guy Sebastian a crack. Battle Scars is my favourite, ruclips.net/video/ZdhqRvQxvDQ/видео.htmlsi=wnDuUERl7_XSSszN
If you want to continue the Antipodean theme and would be interested in a contralto/alto (?), Mel Parsons' Blame is one of my favourite tunes. Also, Get Out Alive (live acoustic in a stairwell!) is remarkable, and haunting. (Far Far Away, Bones, and Don't Wait also good tunes I know.)
Such a pity you are struggling with youtube copyright stuff. One of the reasons I enjoyed your videos so much was journeying with your very first reaction to it. Now, I don't see that. you could watch them anytime and just record your analysis. Sadface. I hope you don't do this for your Ren reactions though! You would have been told that he waives all the copyright stuff. But of course I love your analysis as well, and have been waiting for you to do this song. I just KNEW you'd love his voice and the way he uses it. Thank you! (proud Aussie here)
Yeah, honestly, I really don’t like this video I uploaded. I think I need to just start stopping and starting a little bit on my first impression. It’s not a problem on my Ren videos, I’ll always do a first listen through on his stuff
@@TimWelchVocalStudio I do remember one reactor saying that he tries to pause within 30 seconds of a song starting and that seems to satisfy the youtube gods. Good luck!
@@jayjaychappo yeah, Ive seen that too with other reactors or they cover the video with words or they blur it and they can also get through it... Good luck! It is true it is always very exciting to see your first impression of them yes! :)
I think the call out into the wild stems from adopting and enhancing the aboriginal word "coee" which is often used by country Australians to call out to others.
Hi. I do appreciate your problem. some reaction channels stop and react throughout the song. I understand this is not your preferred method. However, that makes this video a vocal analysis. Not really a true first reaction video that I am looking for. I am trying to be polite with my opinion. Hopefully that is how it is conveyed.
I find it hard not to be disturbed by the constant stopping even after two notes have been sung. appreciate your analysis but too many interruptions spoil the experience.
I would have loved to see the full performance with your reaction first... 😢 Don't like to be forced to become a patreon in order to watch it. But- of course- your choice...
I tried to upload it in the normal way, but it was completely blocked when I did. That’s why I’m doing it this way. I’m sorry that doesn’t work for you. 🙏🏼

Yes, would love to hear Tim's analysis of Guy's performance I hope he realises that Guy is singing both the rap and melody of this powerful song.

React to his cover of Tina Arena - Chains. Completely different dynamics, you will love it

Two of his best are live versions of Chains and Trick of the light
Love a bit of Corby. There's a Swedish chap called albin lee meldau who I reckon is up your street. He did a really good tiny desk concert.
