My wife and I made a double batch in October of 2022. We drank 2/3 of it by the end of 2022 (parties n' stuff). But we had three jars left that we've opened this year. The entire year of aging makes a difference, but not a lot. We stored ours in sealed mason jars and they maintained their color - FYI. Either way, this is a banger recipe. Nice video!
Hey this eggnog (today's new eggnog) looks so delicious! I am a mega calorie watcher so I would have a half-cup max a couple of times over the holidays (so calorie heavy!!) but wow I would love to have this! I am hoping my husband or a friend makes some - so boozy and delicious too!! Awesome recipe Rob and this looks absolutely spectacular!! Hey it's the holidays so indulging a bit more with some yummy seasonal treats is what it's all about!! Have an awesome day!! Cheers!! 🙂
@@RobsHomeBar I hear you Rob! I love the Godfather at this time of year. It tastes like a Christmassy cocktail to me! A Bobby Burns and a Vieux Carre are awesome too!! I am trying to find a Christmassy Martini that I enjoy!! Hey is the Christmas cocktail challenge on this year? Hope so! Cheers!! 🙂
I once aged a homemade eggnog for - wait for it... 7 years! It tasted great, and I lived to tell the tale. However, it wasn't significantly better than the batch aged 1-2 weeks. Thanks for the review!
@@RobsHomeBar Awesome idea! But be careful if you opened a jar this year. I had a terrible reaction when I tasted a jar I had opened in the year prior. Vomited almost immediately! However, all the jars that stayed sealed since day 1 came out great no matter how aged!
hey eggnog season. I need to make this for my wife, but a lactose free version. You are a brave man for trying one after a year. so any tummy issues after? cheers
I find it slightly different. Fresh made egg nog I get the alcohol bit but the year old (6 months) has the flavours of the spirit but not the burn. If that makes sense. I am also lazy and just use heavy cream, why dilute with milk :P
🎄🥃 JOIN ME LIVE TOMORROW NIGHT (DEC 13 - 9PM EST) - I'M MAKING ADVOCAAT LIQUEUR LIVE ☃❄

I’ve got a six month batch waiting for Xmas Eve party.

Yea the difference was very minor, I was definitely expecting something more drastic!

7 years! That’s insane!! I should keep the rest of the one year old and taste a bit every year! Haha

You could probably use lactose free milk, or some other substitute like oat or almond milk
No, I filmed it last week.. no issues!
“Should be safe” 😵💫
I’m gonna keep the batch until next year and try it again!! Hahaha

Yea I get what you mean, it’s definitely still good! But don’t think the aging is totally necessary
@@RobsHomeBar I like 2-4 weeks to have the spirits meld together
@@stephane.foisy.186yea that’s perfect
Just checking in to see if you’re still alive. 😅
haha! still here! thinking of keeping the rest of the 2022 batch for next year's video! haha
@@RobsHomeBar I would probably move it to a smaller bottle so it doesn’t get too oxidized.
I don't care what is safe
year old dairy would tear my stomach apart
That’s what the booze is for 😜
@@RobsHomeBar
so....
My baileys is two years old now.
Is it still safe?
