What a great video! I remember being there fondly. It looks like they've done a lot more work since we were there, CK!

My family visited Tulum around 1965... the ruins had not yet been fully developed as the tourist site they are today and we were the ONLY people there, along with a local man who served as our guide. We were able to climb on and enter all of the sites because, again, we were literally the only people there at the time. I was only about 10 years old but my memory of that trip is still fresh in my mind. I have pictures of me climbng up "El Castillo" and remember thinking at the time the Mayans must have had tiny feet because the steps were so small! We actually camped out on a nearby beach that night after taking a small boat over from Cozumel, which also had not yet been developed into a tourist destination.

We love Bahia Principe Tulum - they have great Lids Club - 9am-5pm and kids will enjoy the whole resort - tennis, beach clean up, buffet. We are here the second time because of the kids club and soooo happy

I went to Tulum today. Just a warning they do not allow water bottles but sell water in cans right outside. It was 150 pesos for three

with all due respect the terminology doesnt sound right for an arqueologist..the former name of the city is not mentioned at all..the city never had a "king"
