If you're doing value first. You can always add watered down color over the top. In miniature painting this is called "glazing". Professional concept artists also do a value sketch, scan it, and then colorize it in photoshop.

Sweet as bro . Taking the colour out really makes you focus on shadows and highlights. I also think it’s really useful to strip back all the effects or tricks learned over time , sometimes it’s good to get back to basics and do things a little different . Awesome job man. IMHO I dont think having a piece with no color “devalues” a painting. I personally think it adds more because of a limited pallete. I personally like black/gray/white pieces, the same with tattoos. I like the black and gray tats a lot more. I also think it adds more contrast to a piece. You need to paint those walls dude, they are an eye sore being so plain!! LOL.....Take care bro....All the best!! ✌🏻🤜🏻.

While I enjoy your color palette I'd certainly like to see more variety. The pink mural and this black and white have been really interesting to watch because it's still your badass style but it just adds another level of variety to the work. Like delete the blues once and do red, white, gray, black, and maybe gold and see what pop you could get. Or experiment with complimentary color schemes. I'm working on a piece with Florida Gator colors the blue orange green but I'm making an avataresque lion turtle with some crazy alligator flippers and flamingo palm trees growing out of its back. I can't get your style locked in but it's inspired by it. I just go more realism. Either way I love the work you do. Love your energy. Look forward to maybe someday seeing that kiptoe signature on a wall in Tampa.

Yeah totally. Colors allow us to draw attention to certain areas of the canvas regardless of values, or in conjunction with values, so in this case it’s just about controlling values only, which can be tricky with something intricate! Thanks for watching 😊
