    For historical accuracy (re: 1967 recording ) RD talks about Nixon I believe in reference to the Vietnam war. Nixon was elected in '68 took office Jan '69 and inherited the war from Johnson. Fifty five years later RD's wisdom is just as clear as ever.

    Ram Dass' satsangs (even his earliest ones) ring so true. He has brought such deep wisdom into our Kali Yuga world!

    • @joeladams8506
      @joeladams8506 Месяц назад

      Just for the sake of this conversation there are a good deal of Vedic astrologers who dispute the claim that we are currently still in the Kali Yuga.
      If anyone is interested look up Swami Sri Yukteswar’s yugic calendar. By his calculations we are currently 324 years into the ascending Dwapara yuga and left the ascending Kali Yuga in the year 1700.
      This point of which age we’re in is literally the only thing I have ever disagreed with Neem Karoli Baba about as he often said we were in Kali Yuga which is the common belief in India still.
      In the calendar Yukteswar ascribes to each Kalpa is 24,000 years. Satya Yugas are 4800 years each, Treta Yugas are 3600 years, Dwapara Yugas are 2400 years, and Kali Yugas are 1200 years each. There is a 12,000 year long descending cycle followed by a 12,000 year ascending cycle. We are currently in the ascending Dwapara Yugu for the next 2100 years according to this calendar.
      The Dwapara Yuga is also referred to as the electric age, or mental age. Seems to me that in the year 2024 when we’re communicating on electronic devices in a world that, for the most part is at peace, we’d be in the Dwapara Yuga instead of the Kali Yuga.
      My lecture aside, I agree with your sentiment hahaha.
      I just love offering this viewpoint because I have seen many people, mostly what I would refer to as Sunday Hindus, espouse this belief that because we’re in the Kali Yuga (supposedly) that there is no hope of progress and positive change in the world so we shouldn’t even try to help. Its the same kind of pseudo-religious nihilism fundamentalist Christianity can get into when they say “well Jesus is going to come down from heaven and kill Satan so we don’t need to care about the environment.”
      So, my question to them would be, what if we’re not in the Kali Yuga after all?
