This the kind of video i have been loking for, Thank you LIndsay for this awesome content, am hoping you will do another video for importing EOS R5 images and maybe your export settings. Thank you.
My preferred AF method is to set and use the back buttons with different AF modes so I am not limited to only one mode that requires me to go back in the menu to change it. This way, I only need to hit the appropriate back button to use the required AF mode
I have the R6 and, as with the R5, this camera doesn't offer the option to select the whole right hand side of the screen to manually drag the shutter. I would like to see that fuction added in a future frimware update, because the R6 and R5 do offer the whole bottom or the whole top portion of the screen to be selected. Thanks for sharing this video!
Great summary. One comment however. I note that you have Continuous Auto-focus enabled. This is not necessary as it means that the camera is focussing even when the shutter is not half depressed wasting battery power.
My settings for indoor portrait: 1. RAW 2. White Balance = Expo Disc (Custom White Balance) 3. Color Checker Passport 4. Picture Style = Neutral 5. Color Space = sRGB 6. Light Meter = Sekonic L-478D Litemaster Pro 7. Camera = Canon 5D Mk IV 8. ISO = 400 9. Shutter Speed = 1/125 ( Always) 10. Aperature = Depends Will use these settings when I rent the Canon R5 and compare.
You dont nead. Dont do nothing to raw files. Only do that if you shoot in jpg and edit your files in jpg and then export in srgb. If you shoot raw or if you shoot jpg and dont edit dont do that. More people pointing that in the comments.
Those picture styles and camera settings do affect the image if you are shooting with Jpeg. What we actually see on the camera LCD is a jpeg preview. If I shoot RAW I usually change all these settings to zero or "neutral" to get them closer to what they look like in RAW.
If we take in consideration assistants changing configurations without we want they can change again colour to srgb. Dont nead adobe rgb if you shoot raw . Raw is above adobe rgb. And if assistant (your you) change to raw + jpg to post a jpg before editing colour will be mess up because I supose when you export your raw after editing you export in srgb not adobe rgb.
You said you do not use Exposure Simulation (you turn it off) when you shoot in the studio so that you can see what"s going on. Exposure Simulation gets turned off by default on a Canon Camera when using a trigger. Could you explain? Are you using a generic trigger?

Trouble with modern cameras. They have to many button and features. The time you have messed about with all this stuff the moment has gone. I still use film for important things. No computors wires or cables. Just camera lights and subject.
One of the best instructors I learned photography in person and online. Thank you for this class. Many thanks for your expertise.
Hope to see another video next month on portraiture or other photography. Thanks for giving back to the community.

Great Vid!!! First time using my R5 with strobes and couldnt figure out why I had nothing but a black screen.
Great video! Seems like everyone else already commented on how great they thought this was, and I agree!!
Settings apply to the EOS M6 mii as well. Thx Lindsay. Will start setting white balance myself instead of Auto especially outside with changing light.
Your explanation on exposure simulation solved my problem. Excellent video !Thanks !
Fantastic suggestions with explanations. Thanks!
Finally
Adorama please do more r5 videos for fashion, runway and sports
Big thanks for your instructions, Adorama. I'm just starting in fashion photography with an R5C and this really helps.

I literally just picked up my R5 an hour ago. Waiting for the battery to charge. Thank you for a great video.

Why shutter speed always 1/125?
Great review of the settings used, Lindsay!
Thanks Lindsay. Where did you get the maniquin head?
just amazon :D
I should get small mannequin for fashion Jewelry. Thanks for the tips. Great work on the videos.
Nice information.. Just bought a canon R5 .. Thank you for this
I would love to know what tripod that is you’re using. Thanks
Very useful information! Thank you so much!
Great video. However, one question. Why are you not disabling Continuous AF? With this enabled, the camera is CONTINUALLY searching for focus.
Thanks for the video, could you share what is the tripod and shoe being used here? Looks super stable
I just switched my R6 to AdobeRGB. Great video! 🤙

useful fashion tips.
Good stuff here. I have been looking for a mannequin. What are you using? Thanks.
Brilliant Instruction .
The explanations got impressed
I have an R5, I want to buy a godox AD300pro with the godox Xpro, but I can’t find anywhere if it’s compatible
Thanks a bunch for this. A bientôt.
Why dont iso 100 ? (You have profoto D1. Is not because of power?) Why not the most quality?

Love you Lindsay...
FYI choosing adobeRGB does nothing if you are shooting raw, the same data is retained in the raw regardless
yes, but there have been 3 times that my assistants have accidentally switched me out of RAW and I'd rather protect myself.

what tripod is that?
Good video, thanks.
Great👍
where is the link that she mentioned for the next video? thank you
Hello! You can find the links to the videos in the description.

In the studio you aren't using a canon trigger. I am shooting Profoto strobes with a Profoto air remote-- and therefore it must be turned off.

@@Adorama thank you 😊 i had a event today bought my R5C yesterday these tips were really helpful coming from canon 60D 5Dmarkii
Your standard saturation was changed to level 4. Level 4 was preset to zero
❤️🇭🇺🙌❣️
Thank you! This video really helped me to find out how to set up my camera screen for shooting with strobes.
🤝🤟🏼😎
F/11? Why do you want to show paper background backdrop? Subject should also be priority

thats not even close to right. You set it up once and leave it. I never miss the moment. :P
