I have the same one. Coolest thing recording no matter where you are on the tape it knows how much time is left without having to reset the timer from the beginning
Great 3 head cassette masterpiece , I use one ever since 1990 , still in great shape ! I`ve only serviced by changing new belts and cleaning the mechanism . Demagnetized the heads and cleaning the pinch rollers....Et, voilla it`s like new , the sound it`s outstanding ! Superbe money/ quality value !
Everyone knows that JVC has made some damn good tape decks The wow and flutter is reduced to an absolute minimum when i listen to this track and it sound very tight and stable ... almost like a cd .. supposeably the earlier models sounded a bit more analogue , even warmer in the mid and high frequencies , but that has to to do also with personal taste .. JVC KD-A8 for example
I have one of these machines and I love it. I've recorded over 200 live sessions with it onto stock 60 minute metal cassettes, and it is still in perfect working order.
Very beautiful music. I got similar music on my italo rarities cassette. I just love this type of music. Brings me back memories. Especially when everything was on a compact cassette tapes.
I have exactly the same deck and it's superb! Arguably on a par with a Nakamichi in terms of sound quality although the Nakamichi does have a direct drive capstan. The JVC uses a duel belt system but it is exceptionally engineered and far easier (and less costly) to replace should there be any need to. I serviced mine a few months back and it was a joy to work on and very well made! You've the BIAS set 'spot on' on your vid for ferric tape and I've made superb recordings at +6db that sound amazing in those tape types! Metal tapes sound ridiculously good! Don't ever sell it! They are one of the finest tape decks made and premium decks are getting rarer and rarer now! Great video! :-) keep it tape dude!
I have the V621 also. I think that I got it in 1991 (?). Still works and sounds great, and in really good condition. Good advice on not selling. I won't be selling mine. I've got a collection of about 400 custom recorded tapes, from 1975 and on. Most on Maxell tapes, and many, most, of those recorded on earlier JVC cassette decks, of which I owned two others. But they were not three-head decks, like this V621. Happy listening!
yes i quite admit with you. i ve got 3 models for that i m proud the dd5 model, this was bought about200 euros in mint condition,it refers only 20-18000hz with metal tape, but wow and futter only .0021 wrms that means the second best value ever made.this machine is the best sounded warm real bass sound with good middle sounds the trebble also ringing...
I have an old JVC KD-A2 and it's great. I swear it will reproduce sound sharper but warmer and clear than the original sound. It's just has a knack of reproducing a better sound than the original.

These units were made in Malaysia. My Kenwood dual well deck from the early 1990's were solid pieces made in Japan.....still plays fine today. All original parts.
Super Video. Habe jetzt genau dieses Tape ersteigert für 90€ im top Zustand. Mit etwas Geduld findet man ab und zu eins. Zb. in Kleinanzeigen-/ Auktionsportalen. Ein super Tapedeck.
I recently picked one up with the same problem. It had been in some sort of studio system, so it was probably on 8 hours a day. The display is so dim you can only see it in a pitch black room. There is no fix for a burned out one other that to get a new VF display (good frickin luck), or a parts unit.
That JVC is great + Great sound! I got few days ago a Technics M205 , connected now to my pc , so i can listen again what i have recorded many years ago . Alot of acid there is . Ooold acidtech .. :) Am happy again... I also have Onkyo Hx Pro (for testing , not my deck) - i find a better sound in m205...
It sound grate. On the other note: why in the 80s they never introduce analog sound helical scan tape recorder. The VCR introduce HI-FI sound that was on pair of CD, they just jump to digital tape recording like Sony DAT. If Sony introduced that as analog helical scan tape they will never have problem with copy right that block them with introduction of DAT. Well we will never know why some technology were never introduce when they should be.
I say Fucking awesome sound no matter without fucking dolby on a fucking type 1 cassette tape who gives a fuck about Naks and Revoxes awesoooooommmmmeeeeeeee

DOLBY HXPRO IS BETTER OF WITH DOLBY S. THEN THE HXPRO VERSION HAS NOT SO MUTCH TO WORK. BETTER IS TO CLEAN AL THE PARTS THE TAPE GETS. AND TO DEGMATISEER THE HEADS WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT. AND FOR LIVE CONCERTS. YOU CAN PUT THE DOLBY OFF ANYWAY
That's why i took e normal position tape. If it's possible to make such a good recordings on a low noise type I tape than people can imagine what would happen on a type IV tape.
I can make tapes sound better than CD'S. And It's not the tapes that hisses, it's the stereo or deck that hisses. Remove the tape, and if needed, block the sensor on top to trick the deck thinking there's a tape in the deck, press play, and you will hear the same hiss noise without the tape in the deck. That's why I still don't understand why people think that it's the tapes that hiss. The tape sounds wonderful, just get the deck that doesn't hiss, like the deck that I own. No deck hiss at all. Nice and quiet between tracks, just like the CD. Of course, some people actually like that hissing sound, like some people like crackles and pops from a record player.
This deck is a beauty. Used to have two of them. Great workhorse, never any issues. Nowadays I have to get by with a V711 en a V1010. Nice music
Which one is better, this one or the TD v 711?
The TD V711 is a step up from the V621. Mostly because of it’s gear drive and better circuitery. The V1010 is yet a step up from the V711.
long life to analog sound!
Lovely to see such a fine example of an analogue Hi-Fi component in all of its glory - long live the Musicassette
I have the same one. Coolest thing recording no matter where you are on the tape it knows how much time is left without having to reset the timer from the beginning

I never use the NR either, I don't like any compression, Dolby etc and once you start cooking the tape it loves it!
James Beck Yes a GREAT deck I have a JVC TD-W220 twin deck but it has a fault with rewind on deck B left deck any Ideas?.
To add that servicing is far more cheaper and affordable than Nakamichi and other hi-end vintage cassette decks !

Love that music! Beautiful tape deck!
I got over 4,000 audio compact cassettes with this kind of music plus other music I collected over the years.
Superb sounding deck
Cool ! I like it. Already repaired my old tape player and now enjoying a warm natural sound
Extremely good and clear high frequency response! The background noise is also very low!
Frequency Response: 20Hz to 22kHz ... better than CD, no noise whith Dolby C ...
I own 3 of these awesome JVC TD-V621 decks..
Pretty nice! I measured a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 50dB and frequency response out to RUclips's compression limit (18kHz).
Love the Jvc decks I have a TD-531 as my deck and it does great
The track being played is Time (Dance mix) by Koto
I have a 12-inch single of Jabda by Koto. No wonder this sounded so familiar!
I have an old JVC KD-A2 and it's great. I swear it will reproduce sound sharper but warmer and clear than the original sound.
It's just has a knack of reproducing a better sound than the original.
I have this cassette deck it's amazing I only paid 40 bucks for it makes it even better
Quanto está saindo está Maravilhoso Tape Deck ?
td-v662 over here, just love that deck, ready to buy this type also,no more Nakamichi for me...
JVC TD-V621 is the best choice for JVC tape deck on ebay.If i have money I will buy it.
Great review! Would you happen to know the size / model of the belts for this deck? Thank you.
I have this model. Always sounded great. now the belts are slipping but cannot find replacements

How does this compare to the TD-V521 ?
That's the model I have. I ordered it from the Crutchfield company, in Virginia, USA, I believe in 1991 (?).
Great looking and sounding cassette deck! What is that music?

Vivid sound!
Don't you use dbx NR ? I think it's more superior than DOLBY NR.
Very good deck and great sound.

interesting tape deck about rca jvc and victor or victrola.
These units were made in Malaysia. My Kenwood dual well deck from the early 1990's were solid pieces made in Japan.....still plays fine today. All original parts.
Bullshit! Made in Japan by Victor Company in Tokyo Japan!
Never in hell...The sticker on the back says MADE IN JAPAN by JAPAN VICTOR COMPANY ,1989...So , what the f**k you`re concerned about with Malaysia ?
Just checked the back of my V621. It says made in Japan, yes in Tokyo.@@xxxsale007xxx
Прекрасный аппарат!👍
Sounds better than the original. It has more highs
Hello, very good your tape deck, just a doubt have a tape deck JVC model TD - F1, it has Dolby B-C NR HX PRO, and deck is hi fi or hi end.
This model has B/C dolby & HX Pro extension headroom also , the only difference it`s the mechanism . yours has a direct-drive one ( using no belts )
@@gogumardare4264 Thanks friend for the explanation.

Anyone know what causes my exact unit display to dim very dark?
I recently picked one up with the same problem. It had been in some sort of studio system, so it was probably on 8 hours a day. The display is so dim you can only see it in a pitch black room. There is no fix for a burned out one other that to get a new VF display (good frickin luck), or a parts unit.
Very good

KOTO. SUPER звук подплавывает

Детонация слышна невооруженным ухом.
Константин Юнак возможно, но скорее всего это такая музыка. На спокойных мелодичных произведениях лучше можно оценить этот параметр
Vic Tor ,
