Sargent’s rather slow tempo emphasises the beauty of the score, a wonderful interpretation. Thanks for the upload.

Superb performance of a gorgeous piece. Strange though that even scholars still confuse “Dryad” with “Wood Nymph.” Yet they may be forgiven for Anglo-Saxons or even for those studying Finnish itself at, for example, The University of Lapland (‘Lapin Yliopisto’) in Rovaniemi. So even as the Sibelius masterpiece ‘Tuonelan Joutsen’ is often mistranslated as ‘Swan of the Underworld’ instead of the rather more precise ‘Duck Underground,’ so too is the polysemous oronym “Skogsrået” confounded with its own homonym “metsämurmeli,” actually “Wood Chuck” and certainly NOT “Wood Nymph”! BRAVO from Mexico City!

Perhaps the belief that a Swan typically is thought to be more gracefully beautiful than a Duck may affect the translation efforts.

@@leestamm3187 -- Interesting...although I was thinking rather along the lines of Confit de Canard and Foie-Gras.....Bon Appétit!

@@steveegallo3384 Enjoy it with a good Pinot Noir. Personally, I prefer pizza, with a good Zinfandel.
