Just felt I should give my two cents. Yes, Porky and Picky had the same life, but Porky also had Giygas' influence over him. And anyway, if you ask me, Picky is the stronger one, emotionally speaking. Giygas just preyed on the weakness in Porky's heart, turning him evil. He never wanted to be evil, he just wanted love and acceptance. This is true for Porky, Giygas, and every living being on this planet. Again, this is just my two cents.
That's one of the things I love most about the Mother series. You're able to completely sympathize with all of the "bad guys." They are all just trying to be loved, in a way. What I think makes the villains of the Mother series amazing is that, even after all the evil they've done, you're still able to feel sorry for them.

If you think about it, the fact that claus became a cyborg is a very good irony, not only does it make sense with the whole chimera thing, but it also simbolizes how while lucas cried his tears out, claus hid his sadness and pain for the loss of hinawa deep inside him, only listening to his anger, even after everything that happened with their mother, claus was still calling lucas a crybaby for still crying on her grave, all while claus himself was just as emotionally devastaded as him, but hiding his feelings and trying to act like everything is ok, trying to act like he can tough it up anything, trying to act like a machine, like a undefeatable soldier, and oh, the irony of him becoming the very thing he was trying to be.

You know something, it's strange that the only game I remember perfectly is mother 3. Most games I forget, or they all blend into the background like one miss-mash. But this game is the only one I remember with astounding clarity. And this song, which I heard 4 years ago, ....Has been remembered in my head the whole time, with no human error scrambling the lyrics or melody. Bravo.

You can't really blame Porky for what he did. He's only a child at heart and only wanted everyone who didn't like him gone. If you look at him closer, isn't he just like any other kid. The only difference is that he obtained the power to grant him his wish, not knowing the consequences of his actions, and actually started to do that very thing. I feel sorry for what Porky had to go through, and to make things even worse, because of his arrogance, he will forever live to think of his actions.

I'm hoping to get my GBA flash cart soon. After I beat Mother 3 I just thought... "Wow... I should have played it in the real console". This is one of my favorite games of all time. The story was amazing, characters were great and the best ending in video game history. One of the most classic games I've played.
It's chilling to think that humans were responsible for raising what would become the ultimate evil in the galaxy, that an adoptive mother's tenderness and care twisted little Giegue into what he became, and indirectly caused the events in Mother 3 as well.

I think he's more of a tragic figure than anything. He was the victim of a broken household, and all he wanted was a friend. But because he grew up learning that you have to be the most "powerful" person to get anything done, he couldn't get friends due to this. Lonely, he attached himself to Ness, who didn't push him away or accept him, which frustrated Porkey even more. So when working for Giygas gave him infinite power, it was too much to handle. It drove him insane, leading to Mother 3.
be thankful they put in ness seriously -_- at least we have 2 mother charcters. which gives double the love in SSe because love is in every cutscene with mother charcters ness sacrificing himself the face off lucas in the beggining was obviously him missing his brother love thats what we got in sse thanks to mother series. and we wouldn't have much if it wen't for both of them beseides you have that cosume of cluas its not really cluas but still be happy with wehat you got

I think he's more of a tragic figure than anything. He was the victim of a broken household, and all he wanted was a friend. But because he grew up learning that you have to be the most "powerful" person to get anything done, he couldn't get friends due to this. Lonely, he attached himself to Ness, who didn't push him away or accept him, which frustrated Porkey even more. So when working for Giygas gave him infinite power, it was too much to handle. It drove him insane, leading to Mother 3.
be thankful they put in ness seriously -_- at least we have 2 mother charcters. which gives double the love in SSe because love is in every cutscene with mother charcters ness sacrificing himself the face off lucas in the beggining was obviously him missing his brother love thats what we got in sse thanks to mother series. and we wouldn't have much if it wen't for both of them beseides you have that cosume of cluas its not really cluas but still be happy with wehat you got
I'm not saying that losing his mother is emo, just the pic of him looking down at some random flower is. :P

Well, he mostly had been influenced by his crappy life as a child. His parents abused him, he was probably jealous of Ness and trying to prove that he didn't need PSI to be "cool". And at that point, he snapped, which made him into the psycho he became.
Wow, you think like me. I already had a DSi, but i bought a GBMicro and the flash cart just for play this game... And its awesome. As you say, the characters, the story, also the gameplay was good. Just a classic, i still cant believe Nintendo doesnt even care to try again with Mother/Earthbound series

@RCT3Crashes100 he never killed claus. he shot a bolt of lightning at lucas witch reflected back at him because of the franklin badge giving claus mortal damage but claus seemed happy to have been freed from the pigmasks and he said he wanted to be with his mother before he died
@DraconicFeathers yeagh claus just wanted to avenge his mother and the pig maskes found him and turned him into a monster. and when he was finally free he went to be with his mother. its all the pig masks fault if they had'nt turned that drago evil then it wouldnt have ever attacked hinawa and noone would have had to die(sob) it makes me cry how lucas"s family was cut into peices by pigmasks
