Love the battle between trainer and stickman. If only the game's battle is like that; switching pokemon in quick/real time during battle. (Imagine Pokken but the pokemon battling are the 6 pokemon you've caught and they have their 4 customizable moves and can be swapped in and out quickly) Makes battles more engaging compared to turn based combat.
You actually can get slugma before the 1st gym because in the Pokémon Center. If you talk to Primo and answer the passwords to get the eggs you will get a slugma egg, mareep egg, and a wooper egg

You can actually get Slugma through secret codes if you talk to the cameraman in Violet city. It comes in 1/3 eggs which are Whooper, Mareep, and Slugma. Idk how to get the codes and I think they're randomly generated but it's possible to get Slugma that early.
