Please can you make a video for how to register with midwifery council of new zealand, the process is different from that of general nurses. Thank you.
If you ask me, I would still say this is better than the Aussie route. I'm a nurse in Australia. I got registered late last year and moved here in February. The New Zealand route is better because at least they may issue you an EN Pin if you don't meet the RN criteria. With the Australian assessment process, if you have a higher-level diploma in nursing and are a Registered Nurse, they won't advise you to take the NCLEX + OSCA. Instead, they will task you with upgrading your diploma. When you apply for qualification assessment with your higher diploma for the position of EN, they will tell you that since you are a Registered Nurse in your home country, you can only apply for an RN license. This is despite knowing that your skills align more with the EN license. The sad thing is that most of these assessment officers for AHPRA are very young and intentionally appoint people outside the medical or nursing field to review your qualifications. I wouldn't lie to you, Australia is better, and I chose Western Australia where you could save a lot of money. After funding my NCLEX, getting a visitor visa to Australia for the OSCA, and returning to my home country to wait for sponsorship, I would say it was worth the struggles. Spending almost $10,000 on this whole process was very okay since I had a return sign-on bonus of $12,000. Not many people can go through this process since it took me two years to get here. I would advise anyone who doesn't have the financial ability to do the same to rather study a European language, preferably German (Deutsch), Norwegian, Danish, or Dutch, since German was my backup plan. I studied German to the B2 level until I received my license from AHPRA. Do what works for you; there's no time limit if you wish to travel overseas. I stopped practicing as a nurse in Ghana to focus on the NCLEX and German. All the money I spent wasn't from my pocket but rather loans from banks, my parents, and my sister, who all contributed to funding my journey. Everything works out in the end. BELIEVE...
Wow, this was encouraging. I have started my German language too, am currently on A2 level, will be starting B1 in December. I hope it works out as I do not have funds to sponsor myself to Australia

NZ registration now takes between 5 and 9 months, just had mine, it took 8 months, waited for 6 months before a case manager was assigned to me. Everything is now becoming so frustrating. 😮😮😮
Hi Nurse Deo I'm a new subbie.. I must give credit where it is due.your video's are alot helpful please never stop..now my worry with New Zealand is that if you have a diploma and they convert you to En..will it remain like that or after completing some hour with them they can grant you back the RN registration..
The Self assessment portal is just like the Australia self assessment portal by AHPRA. In my honest opinion Nurse Deo, if a person from Africa has the resources. Let the person apply to AHPRA straight for assessment. Do the MCQ, write NCLEX, apply for visit visa to Australia and go to Adelaide to write OSCE. OSCE in Australia is the most expensive part of the journey. About AUD $6,000 considering the OSCE fee, flight ticket and hotel reservations. By the time a person will spend $8,000 . One will become a registered nurse in Australia. Well, this is just for a person who desire to move Aussie. With this whole new process of NZ, applying to Aussie straight is better if the person has the funds. NB: Migration rules are changing, different professional bodies are also changing their requirements. It is well. Thanks for your steady update.
Thank you so much for your contribution, I agree with you because in both cases you'll sit for two exams so just go directly if Australia is your plan, because NZ will require you to travel down now.
When we are finally in NZ on a visit visa for 3 months and after we clear our OSCE , is the rest of the process and registration is done within 3 months? My biggest doubt.... Pls Reply sister
