In terms of book talk, I recently finished “Once Upon a broken Heart” series and the first book was kinda slow but the second book has my HEART. Kathleen! You have to read the housemaid, it’s pretty short, a little less than 300 pages, it’s a psychological thriller with an amazing plot twist towards the end ❤

I loved from blood and ash! It definitely does get slow for a bit but I feel like it picks back up. I think you’d enjoy The Serpent and The Wings of Night. Lightlark also has a very good twist.
If you enjoyed FBAA, you MUST read the prequel (Flesh and fire series), i guarantee you will love it even more!!!! It add so much new information to the original plot and the characters are even better imo.

Read the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare, and if you love it, then read the Last Hours series by her, too!(: she’s great at giving us the angst and plot twists and romantic drama
I don’t know how anything can ever top ACOTAR for me. It makes me emotional how much I love that series and all the characters in it. I’m glad I read Fourth Wing first so I could enjoy it for what it is. But ACOTAR is my heart. As corny as it is those books have saved me. I don’t think I’d be in the place I am if I wasn’t reading those books during this very difficult time of my life.
I’ve not read this series but the flesh and fire series which I believe is either a crossover or comes after blood and ash is really really good. I’ve also just read the bridge kingdom and the traitor queen and those two books had me hooked!! Then there’s the serpent and the wings of night duo which also had me pretty obsessed xx

Blood and Ash series is definitely better than it seems- The more other books I read, the better they end up being. Definitely would agree it goes down hill after book 3 (mostly just book 4 wasn’t good to me) but the world building definitely picks up as they go on, and book 5 is basically just book 1 from Hawkes POV and a bit new info thrown in which people don’t like, but it was interesting to see the other side of things.

I love love the From Blood & Ash Series. I am on a Soul of Blood & Ash. Also highly recommend the prequel series A Shadow in The Ember is the first one. If you plan to read them, there’s a suggest reading order between the From Blood & Ash series and the prequel series :)

PLEASE read one dark window and two twisted crowns (the shepherd king duology). I am begging you. I also love sjm and those books feel as sophisticated/immersive. Loveeeed them. I liked that duology wayyy better than fourth wing, six of crows, fbaa, cruel prince, powerless, etc. :)

A great story that has me wanting to check out more by Stephanie Garber. If you're looking for big gasp and shock, Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo was a wild ride but pretty dark and has some triggers!

I reeeeallly loved how it put an East Asian cultural spin on fantasy. Most romantasy is some amalgamation of Western high fantasy. It's so nice to see someone else who's read it, too. It seems like Maas, Broadbent, and Armentrout overshadow everything else. Which they're great and all, but I love Chupeco as much as Maas and Broadbent, and definitely more than Armentrout. I like Jaqueline Carey's Kushiels Dart more than all of the above, though! Have you read her?
I have read the whole series in From Blood and Ash and the prequel Fresh and Fire!! I LOVE the prequels and I think you will too! There's a reading order for both series, so make sure you check it out 😊😊
I also think From Blood and Ash is really good but it starts to suck in 3rd book :D I'm still into 80% of Crescent City 3 btw. It's really slow compared to first 2 books. I basically stopped reading at this point. But I can recommend some good books that stayed good until the end (at least for me): Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart series by Stephanie Garber (they're not smut but very enjoyable) These Hollow Vows duology by Lexi Ryan (you would like these as a Fae fan) The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air series) by Holly Black (honestly Jude - Cardan could be my otp, i just love the enemies to lovers arc)
I recently read the Kiss of Iron series by Clare Sager and it was so good! Highly recommend that one. I think the next book in the series comes out sometime this year.
The Four Horsemen by Laura Thalassa is a great series if you're looking for a little less romance and a lot more spice. Please keep reviewing books for us - we love it!
