You can do...
1)Disable auto pick
2) ctrl then select with the help of mouse whenever u found crate.... Scroll not work here... Simple

Well i tell you... I have 3 variety of mices . 800dpi,1500dpi n 5000+dpi(cheap). But i use 1500dpi which is very smooth n sensitive.
