@@PeachwiseSyndrome Phil step father was a complete asshole towards the whole family and is responsible for Phil mothers death cause he got her hooked on drugs and idk if the stepfather was abusive to them or not but it seems that once he came to Phil's life everything went downhill from there

@Vicious Saito You do not understand what this album means, and you will never understand. The lyrics of the album are incredible. Whitechapel is awesome
As an adult that survived childhood sexual abuse by a family member, that was murdered, I feel this to my core. I wanted to be the one to put an end to him and have dreamed about how I would do it. This song resonates with me. Oh how I wish I could have made him suffer. He got off easy by dieing as fast as he did.
I hate when people tell me: “That music you listen to is just pointless screams”. And they’re so wrong. It’s not my fault that you can’t understand or appreciate the lyrics quality.
This album is killer. They've improved a lot from their past two albums, I'd say it's one of my favorites from them. My favorite tracks are We Are One and Lovelace.
I haven’t listened to Whitechapel since “Our Endless War” and I didn’t think Whitechapel could get any better. Their progression from that album, Mark Of The Blade to The Valley is fuckin nuts. \m/
About the last place I'd expect to have been sent from a Good Mythical Morning video! (for reference, this song was playing in Link's headphones at one point during the "Can They Keep Quiet?" video)
Forgiving is a lot harder than not forgiving. So not forgiving is actually weakness. It’s easy to hold on to hate and anger. It’s what you naturally want to do.
Fuck, I love how far this band has come. Started with a Jack the Ripper concept album, and now they’re doing lyrically personal albums that are still story driven and have yet to decline in heaviness. They were pioneers of deathcore, and as far as I’m concerned, still stand as the pinnacle.
I don't know about the self-titled album because it might still be their best album. The Valley is definitely better than This Is Exile, A New Era Of Corruption, Our Endless War, and Mark Of The Blade though.
"He is finally dead.. we all know you're going to hell come back to life so I can send you myself" Now those are some fucking lyrics. Phil must have had one good drink when writing this track
this is all about Phil and his untamable rage and his unrelenting hatred towards his stepfather. you can feel Phil's rage and hatred towards his stepfather for all the hell he put him and his family through.
Their first 4 albums are a banger in my opinion. Possession, This is Exile, Exalt, Breeding Violence, The Night Remains, Make it Bleed, The Somatic Defilement, all good ones from those first 4 albums. Mono and The Saw is the Law are good ones from their 5th. Mark of the Blade is a good one from their 6th.
I'm curious as to whether Phil is actually talking about someone specific who harmed him and his family when he was younger, or if the man he references is a metaphor for something else.
It could be about his step dad, who was in a way responsible for his mom's death, and his real dad was already dead a few years prior to that. So either his step dad died eventually also or it's just a metaphor as to say his step dad is dead to him. To me it only makes sense that way
Forgiveness truly is weakness. When you forgive someone for doing such UN-FORGIVABLE things to you then you're a sucker and you deserve it. Strong people really don't forgive.
This song totally shows Phil's hatred and anger for his stepfather 👌
phil has some big big daddy issues
@@okkefaber9993 maybe you didn't mean it this way, but that comes off as super disrespectful. The dude basically got Phil's mom killed.

It’s actually really sick that the band and Metal Blade shared this, as it is a fan-made vid. Nice job KOT!
Yeah it was a really nice surprise!
No way! that's awesome.
Thanx!

*Yepity yep, I agree with you, sir.*
Hell yeah!
and still best from them until now👌🏻🤘
I had a poor relationship with my mother's boyfriend for a lot of years and hearing this song made me like Phil even more.
Me too bro, I know how it is to have a terrible step dad🤬
"We all know your going to hell "
"Come back life, ill send you myself"
I'm definitely gonna put that on a T-shirt
This song is filled with ultra sick lines

Used to like this song until I realized it's what they're going to play at my sacrifice. Hopefully not I'd rather hear another song when I go.
imagine having a fan project become an official part of an album cycle
I think this definitely goes to show how humble they are, and that happened, it would solidify that for sure.
Lol your avatars
One of the best albums of this year. Brutal.
Whitechapel never disappoints
@Vicious Saito You just don't understand what this album's about then.
@Vicious Saito you have no idea what this is about then. These are the best lyrics he has written in awhile.
Vicious Saito look at Angelmaker, they’re bringing Deathcore back

Defiantly alot of emotion in this song
I have never seen hatred so pure and articulate. I absolutely love it
When I first heard this on the album, I laughed and said "oh fuck, let it out Phil!".
Love this fucking album.
When I saw this, I thought that the quality was lowered, but when i see that is a fan made, i thought, "this is an amazing work".

Is it bad that when I learned the man who beat my mother to death hung himself I listened to this long for like two hours on repeat?
No. In fact that's badass
