A mid-century marvel from 1964. It took me years to find out what this song was called but so glad I know its name now! Yes, this does sound like Wes Montgomery!
Clif, you're killing it here! One of the better guitar versions of this tune that I've run across! Nice lines, and - great job on the backing track👍. Glad I found you!
Well Cliff, as a Belgian guy who also plays the guitare, I can't help but congratulate you! You honor Toots with this. For other Jazz versions, I keep comming back to yours! Fell in love with your version of "In a sentimental mood", became my favourite Jazz Jam! Thank you Cliff.
Cliff - Fabulous sound and feel. A true pro. So enjoyable. No tricks are fancy pre-practiced licks. Playing from the heart. Keep up the great playing. i will be watching and listening.
Hi everybody, I'm selling some of the backing tracks that you guys can hear me play on my videos. Just like this one & some other. I really I don't come here very often. If any of you are still interested let know. Have a good day.
Yellow Kings Hello. Well, you're talking about the "Marollen", the area around " het Vosseplein". Actually "Ket" comes from an old dutch word for kid, that originates from an even older word for "young goat" or "young horse". The word was used by extension as "ket" meaning "kid" or "street kid". It kind of stuck around in "Flemish Brabant" and you might still hear it being used throughout that entire province. So the word is not just limited to the "Marollen" but is appliccable throughout Brussels. Sadly though the word is slowly disappearing along with some of our beautiful dialects. It does remain alive in popular culture though. We even have a tv station for kids called "Ketnet" that uses the word "ket" in its name. So there's hope still.....
Hi Cliff, I really like your version of Bluesette, it's truly magical! Would it be possible to use your backing track? My grandfather died recently and was a fan of Toots Thielemans. I would like to play your version of Bluesette on his funeral, but therefore I need the backingtrack. Thank you in advance, greetings from Joris from Belgium.
Listen to the great guitarists like Wes; Joe Pass, George Benson & others it's a great school right there. There is a video on youtube of Joe Pass called the Jazz Lines. Check it out.
If I pluck those octaves with my third and fifth fingers instead of using my thumb, it sounds so much cleaner, but doesn't have that blurred signature sound. (and I mostly play with my thumb..and never use a pick) I think everybodys thumb callous makes a different sound...Want to bet these strings are Thomastick Bebop?
