- In this Statistics 101 video, we learn about a simple yet effective descriptive data visualization called dot plots. It offers some additional benefits as compared to histograms and box plots and can also be used to clean up suspect observations!

As I mentioned in the video, I was not sure if JMP sorted the dots ascending within each "bin" of the dot plot. It appears it does NOT, so we cannot infer any information from the organization of color within each bin. :)
Brandon Foltz would you please be able to make some videos on factor analysis and structural equation modeling? Pretty please 🙏 an exam coming soon and wish I could grasp it in a somewhat easy form🙈🙈🙈
Even though I'm not color blind, that color coded plot was hard for me to interpret. I would have found it easier to read if the dots were grouped by city. Better yet, I think it would have been more helpful to see three vertically stacked plots (one for each city) that all share the x-axis. 😊
These past few days, I've been binge watching your videos. The way you talk through specific, practical examples is helping me understand concepts I was struggling with. Thank you.
Hello Brandon! Thank you very much! Your explanations are very clear. :)
Very informative😌🙏
Thank u Brandon. U r the best
Thank you Brandon
love your videos
Love the vids. Can we possibly get compound/simple interest?
Thank you for the wonderful video series!
However, in case of the box plots, when the median is closer to the 1st quartile than the 3rd, wouldn't it mean that the data is skewed towards the lower values rather than the higher (case in point: salaries in San Francisco)?
Wonderful resource, thanks! Would it be possible to teach CFA, the typical one used in social science?
chan yin yi was going to say the same. Studying for the CFA and would definitely use your videos if you covered the topics. Your teaching method is really good.
where can I find a video regarding the P-P or Q-Q plot? thanks!
Hello Sir, is it possible to provide notes of this slide of whole statistics?
@Rishi, your comment is analogous to an imaginary situation where you find a pile of gold lying in front of you but you don't want to do the extra work to pick up the gold.
