Great video! Looking forward to more about how to use it, quick code/colab examples would be super helpful. I am using NLP for scientific papers in the field of Structural Biochemistry and one thing I'm interested in is linking the text in a science paper to the figures and trying to link the two.
This looks really interesting. It would be nice to be able to parse journal articles and extract gene/protein information, pathway information and drug information. EuropePMC has a large set of free text papers that could be used to train a model for this.
I really like the way you think.("extract gene/protein information"), You made this comment four months ago and nowadays four months is a really long time, but still let me if you make any progress. I would like to know I'm very interested!
I have a bunch of journal entries and sketches is there going to be a way to create a digital twin of my sketch pages and pair journal notes to each? Then I could hyperlink pages pertaining to similar content and organize notes better. They are all old notes, and while I've transitioned to digital documents for writing, there is still issues with bringing scans to those documents. Very time consuming to structure it manually.
Only as separate phisical module (hardware+software+sourcecode) entirely decoupled from google cloud. There is no way to control what google does with data from your docs and we know they are not trustworthy at all.
True, though Google will never willingly give away the source code, the only way to compete with this creeping threat is to create our own Machine Learned AI project, using a GNU General Purpose License, that ensures that the source code is available for anyone to use.
Doc ai is a way for google to collect your data and use it as part of it's own AI system to be able to control the world. Think about it. You upload all your data, google plug's it in to it's massive AI system(which is what all that "carbon credit" BS is for as they need tremendous power to do it all and need you to use less so they can use more) and, well, you are toast. They are not doing it to help you. Google, of course, isn't the only one doing this but it is by far the biggest and is essentially the US government now. There can only be one king of the hill. Everyone else looses, google wins.
I wonder what the Google AI would do when it reads an essay I am writing using Google Docs, that Google would definitely not like... James Damore did nothing wrong.
It depends. Idk where you are pursing your masters, but you need to find faculty who share an interest in machine learning and natural language processing.

fire this presenter, they suck
thank you so much!
i don't need ai. i need corporations to pay taxes so we can improve living conditions for everyone.
Why is this produced like a video for children?
Tried document AI to parse 77 page pdf files. Works great. Would be great to make it compatible with big query by removing empty structures.
IBM did this 5 years+ ago with "Watson" but it is cool that it is made accessible for everyone
Can't wait to use this. Going to try this on some of the survey data I got.

Really cool application, does it work for languages other than english (e.g. spanish)?
Yes
Yes, to find the full list, go to the documentation linked in the description and under "References" select "Supported Languages"
Yes --> they embedded Google translate api for this feature.
Its inbuilt or as a connector, documents can help
looks awesome for now
Dark Data sounds cooler than Document AI
sounds scarier, scared customers don't buy, scared investors don't invest
Thank you for the interesting 🤔 infos
Google doing well 😊👍
I thought this was a model that documents code for you. Would be a fun challenge.
Those already exist in research contexts, look up comment generation papers if ur interested
How to use this?
Hello,
Can "Document AI" also be used to process texts from PID drawings in A0 format where the texts are horizontal, vertical or at any angle?
You're a good dude Holt
FINALLY, this is huge, you guys doing good work
That sounds awesome!
Can I integrate it into OneNote?
Wonderful presentation, Holt!

Right on!
Very interesting and useful technology. But I can see ways in which certain... authoritarian governments... could benefit very much so from this.
