When I saw Heupel win a game with defense Saturday, UT got my respect and attention. That’s all that has held them back for several years. Now they are players for a championship. Go Dawgs
That match up in nov wont be like 2022. It will be a fight till the end of the 4th quater. Plus they could meet 2 more times now in sec championship amd cfp. That's crazy.
@joshwells3933 respect is the start. We may not like you guys, but we have respected you. Not fear, but respect. So, thanks from one fan base to another.
The best hire TN made hasn't been Heupel. It was A.D. Danny White. He has helped in every aspect of TN athletics. These are the results. I'm confident in every major sport we have.
You could go further and point toward plowman and Boyd. Or even further than say thank you to Jimmy haslam for getting out of the kitchen at Tennessee 😅
Every single person in that program is bought in. From the backups to the AD to the University. The "I gotta get mine" guys are sent away. See Chandavion Bradley, Doneiko Slaughter, etc. they probably won't win the championship this season, but this team is going to be towards the top of the SEC for a long time.
@@xstavinx because he and the older guys were mad that Boo Carter and Jermod McCoy got more NIL than they did. You look at the product on the field right now, and you understand why. Some think that the coaching staff just told them to kick rocks because of how lousy they were
Closer and closer to shedding my Post Traumatic Vol Syndrome. Still more to go but Coach has worked a true miracle to do what he's been able to do, having taken over a burning pile of rubble like he did.
It is awesome to have a defense and run game good enough to give Nico time to grow and improve in this offense. He is just getting started and he doesn't need to be elite every game to produce those wins
I 110% trust Heupel. My dad was getting mad that they weren't throwing it around and letting Nico shine. But I really thought about it. Seeing the injuries pile up, especially on OU's side due to players getting caught awkwardly or slipping on any break, I think he knew that letting the offense break out may lead to injures for our receivers or possibly Nico. I think Nico threw it twice in the 4th?? He trusted the defense to shut down OU, and we walked away with a 2 possession win *IN NORMAN AT NIGHT* .. The field conditions were TERRIBLE, and I really hope they get that taken care of before more players get hurt.
I actually agree with your dad albeit maybe in a different form. For me it wasn’t about letting Nico Shine, but more so about extending drives and killing more clock, because Oklahoma was still technically in it until their onside kick failed. I’d feel like opponents like Georgia, and Alabama would be more capable of taking advantage of the conservative play calling like that and make it incredibly uncomfortable for Tennessee.
@ave0828 That field was awful. I argued with an OK fan earlier. I said the field wasn't SEC quality, and they actually tried to defend the field. They said it was fine and we are on an SEC high horse. That was funny to hear. Absolutely horrible field.
@@spencerwarren9219 Not cured for me yet. I usually have to stop watching in the 4th quarter of any game that is close. Even had to stop watching for the OU game.
I have the PTSD's. With my VOLS, i've watch to many games, I guess. Lol!! This team has so much talent, want them to get better, Nico improve, offense, defense, kicking game, them have fun, in the end win. Like a son you want him to do great in life. VOLS are my family.
Reality is players can use emotion to fuel physical prowess, while maintaining body control. However, coaches are not that way. Emotion that bleeds into a coaches mind doesn’t provide benefits physiologically. It provides liabilities mentally though. I think that’s why Josh is rock solid
Heupel passed on some good recruits, because they didn't fit the culture. He's looked for humble kids, team players, and hard workers. And they love him. That team would run through a brick wall for Heupel.
Interesting question to discuss as a UT fan: By the time Josh Heupel retires, is Peyton Manning still a top 3 QB in UT history? Nico, Faizon Brandon, and hopefully many more dudes coming down the road.
I’m with you there. He deserves his respect. He definitely gets it, but only when he’s brought up. It’s rarely unprompted, and after he wasn’t brought back with Pruitt being fired, he probably has a sour taste in his mouth for us. Kind of a similar situation with Josh Heupel and Oklahoma actually.
Feel very good about what’s happening with all sports at UT right now. Winning SEC all sports title 3 years in a row is hard to believe. Feel good about the coaching staff and players in place as well. Need to see secondary is improved when we play a team that tests them. Love your show. Best in the business.

This is the best Athletics program in the country change my mind is what I say to everybody
I'm thinking a few statues in Knoxville in the future

Agree 💯 %. Danny is the architect of the rocky top Renaissance

Why did slaughter transfer again

Yes, even if Tennessee doesn't win it all this year. They will be stronger next year.

It's been SO long since the Vols have been good, I'm going to visit 10 other sites to hear how good they are. GBO!!!
We been down so long feels good to be back on top we still got a along way to go but man we getting the respect we deserve go vols

Many Vols fans have PTSD from prior years. It’s going to take some time for us to get over the past.
Just one good run in the playoffs and it'll all be over
Pruitt gave u bvs ( battered vol syndrom) heupel curried us in 2022 of that.

Heupal is the perfect coach
Oklahoma flopping and not mowing grass as required isn’t SEC.
Passing games still need work ...
“LSU Historically”.. I hate this narrative. They’ve averaged 3 losses or more outside of one season (2019) for the last 12 years.
why do ppl just forget Tee?

Because Tee has never been an ambassador to Tennessee like Peyton has been
Tee was good, but it wasn't him that won it. That was the most complete team we had till now.
