Thank you so much for this video.. For years I had this memory of a coaster that existed for a short time at Wildwood and this was it.. Everyone I asked never heard of this thing, but I new it was there..
Before people really knew how to operate a camera lol. This is back when everyone thought you had to stay zoomed in on the subject the entire. No head room or lead room at all. I just got seasick watching this. lol
My favorite coaster as a kid and now. I always knew it as The Ninja.. but they somewhat recently refurbished it and it's soooo smooth now. Thanks for the video!!!
Fun fact Kamikaze was moved to Six Flags Over Georgia in 1992 where it was know as Ninja and was painted red in 2015 they closed it down because of guest hating the ride because it was really rough heads banging on the shoulder restraints so in 2017 or 2016 it was rethemed painted blue new trains and restraints and new name called Blue Hawk now alot of guest do like the ride very much
funny stuff, and brings back memories! do you have any footage of Castle Dracula? would have loved to see you mock and interview people there, or go up to those workers in the makeup and joke with them!
This is was Blue Hawk used to look like and is the only relocated roller coaster in SFOG’s history. It as an extremely rare inversion that only exists in 2 different different parks that has this Vekoma model known as the butterfly
In 1986, Hunt's Pier Associates, a group of local investors headed by David Kami(hence how the Kamikaze got its name), assumed control of the pier. At the end of the 1988 season, Kami and his investors demolished the Flyer, Jungleland, and Skua. In 1989 the pier opened with the Kamikaze, but that only lasted 3 seasons, which was longer than the investors did. Prior to the 1991 season, the pier was purchased by Conklin Shows, a Canadian-based carnival operator. The location opened as Conko's Party Pier over a 4 year stretch during which business continued to decline and many rides sat idle for long stretches. The Catanoso family were the last to try and save Hunt's Pier when they transformed it into Dinosaur Beach Adventure Theme Park Pier in 1996. Just thought I'd add this info for you guys as I just finished reading the book "Images of America: Hunt's Pier", which was released around 2012 and where I got the above information. And yes, Moreys' open the Nor'Easter in 1995, but that was on Moreys Pier, not Hunt's.

Your welcome! Cool story! I haven’t been to Wildwood in ages. I’ve lived in Florida since 2014.
