I need advice, how do you figure out songs by ear? How do you find the right notes and sequences, the right techniques, the diferent arrangements, the tunning and stuff like that? I've seen some youtube videos on that before, but they were not very helpful.
+MrBX5 There is one simple way how I figure out songs by ear. I use Guitar Rig 5 to slow down audio and begin to waste sometimes minutes, sometimes hours to find the right notes etc. The more you practice the more solid song destroyer you become. Over the years you'll find the right notes more quickly and your hearing will become sharp as a blade. Live performances of needed song, if they available, also can helps you! You can slow down the video and watching the guitarist playing
+MrBX5 Riffstation is a good one as well to be able to slow songs down. You can change the key of the song as well. Megadeth are busting out d standard tuning atm but you can change it in Riffstation so you can play it in E standard
+MrBX5 Just play man. The more you play you kinda just pick it up. Along with solos. Once you learn scales and such you'll be able to distinguish solos piece by piece. First it'll start out with simple solos then you'll be able to work your way up to more complex things. So just keep playing and the longer you play the better you'll get at solving these kind of things out.
How do you go about learning the solos? It's been hell for me but I'm making progress ever so slightly. The alternate picking is what is screwing me on the main solos.
