@@kara_thewolf7518 There's a lyric in *Victory Lap* where Little King John tells Sneezy "Please dont't sneeze, the breeze will freeze." In the comment, air currents is another word for wind, and frozen over is self explanatory.
I'm happy to see that LKJ has developed as a character. While he used to be deceptive and greedy, he now feels empathy, even for people he dislikes. At 7:42, you can see that he is concerned for RBG's safety not just because he wants his own universe to exist, but because he is genuinely worried about RBG.
I liked this series a lot and would like to see more of little king john. Thank you for making this Ryan.

LKJ's development was handled so well. He matured naturally without any unbelievable or immediate transitions. First he lost the Baby to RBG and was faced with failure to get what he wanted, probably for the first time in his life. Then his world was flooded and he was forced to endure tremendous hardship and personal tragedy. Then he met Sneezy with whom he was able to form his first real personal connection. Then he found fulfillment in the exploration of the haven, the discovery of its secrets, and the industry of raising the land above the water. Then he met the Caveman and finally made his first (unstaged) friendship. Then he is faced with an existential revelation about his world. Then he saves the galaxy. At long last, Little King John is worthy of his title.
I love the way that Little King John turned from an unlikeable antagonist into one of my favorite characters in the series! It shows that he is not just evil, but can understand, can show compassion for others and not just himself, bring sacrifices and worry about people he has considered enemies before. What an excellent way to end the story arc of this character.

I think Caterpillar Minister was more interested that Little King John was actually concerned about Ratboy Genius and friends. Besides, I couldn't give away the finale of Starship Genius!
I actually got kinda emotional throughout this episode. I'm gonna miss Little king john and all of his adventures and I wonder what is going to happen with the galactic superheroes. I hope Little King John gets another installment or series or if he joins the galactic superheroes, but at the end caterpillar minister said that they were in separate times. I'm gonna miss the potato knish and ratboygenius minecraft days, but again, time moves on, just like LKJ and the Flood.
yayyy!! Im starting to tear up! Im so happy john got a happy ending and everyone is safe! Hopefully ratboy and the gang are safe in their time too. But yay for little king john!! I hope we see him again in a new story one day.

I love how much Little King John has developed throughout the series, and I can't wait for the next part of Starship genius to find out what LKJ saw. This was a wonderful happy ending for my favorite King and his friends. Thank you so much for making this day better.

lazicful Maybe it's not to spoil the next episodes of Starship Genius.
Maybe CM wants LKJ to stew in concern for others for a bit longer to see what he'll do? He was just chilling in the corner watching LKJ's heart to heart with Sneezy last time he showed up. Little king is still on probation as far as everyone else seems to be concerned, "full disclosure" or not. He's still got a lot of proving himself left to do I guess. And CM is one of those guys who's vague even when telling RBG how to save the galaxy. The guy they convinced to help them by telling him he otherwise wouldn't exist probably isn't high on his list of people to be forthcoming with.
As for Starship Genius' fate, I would be shocked if they didn't somehow make it. We know the GSH will probably crash on the red planet and wind up lost and maimed, but I am not expecting anything lasting to happen to our main characters. Then again Ratboy has never had such a high stakes plot before, so who knows.
Little King John became my favourite character. Quite a journey form selfish tyrant to saving his kingdom and universe! His flaws make him more interesting as a character.

The part where LKJ is worried about what happened to RBG is really touching and makes me sad because LKJ is left wondering if they all made it out okay.
I hope we get to see more of LKJ in the future. The ending of this was just perfect.

this is the only series that can be watched from any point in the series and still make sense
I'm surprised LKJ wasn't more indignant about the whole situation. I get the impression that whatever LKJ saw on the starship affected him greatly, as he was genuinely worried/curious about the outcome. Also! The moment at 3:08 was intense. All of the Ratboy Genius stuff is very non-violent. Instances of violence are never depicted as glorious or good. LKJ almost hit Sneezy, but was teleported away before he could do it. (Was this his unconscious doing, or somebody else's?) Far as I can recall, the only instance of somebody legitimately being violent is RBG himself when he's getting those fish away from Baby. That scene is also the first time we see Ratboy really use those stretchy powers associated with LKJ.
This is how I personally interpret the series up to this point. There's certainly a lot to read into, and I'm curious about what other people are coming away with after this.

I saw "Potato Knishes" many years ago and had no idea that the great story of Little King John. Today began to see this magnificent series and could not stop.

I'll be honest, I really enjoyed the writing in this episode! you could clearly feel the emotion behind the dialog of the characters! I find that to be one of the strongest pieces to your stories! keep up the good work!

This was an experience that I will never forget, thank you
I always find myself coming back to this episode, besides the fact that the final chance to save the world was very intense, the second part always makes me feel happy. Seeing that lkj has grown from his past encounters makes me feel like he has a chance to become a better person (or rat). The main thing I do always come back to is the end, the slowed transition to the final flood motif gives me goosebumps and when the final motif hits I usually am in tears seeing that this is an end of the saga and lkj finally saved the minecraft dimension. The end always feels so nostalgic and every time the last motif hits I just get this nostalgic memory of going to my grandparents house, which seems really weird but it’s hard to truly describe how much this memory oddly ties in with the song. This is just one of the best series I have ever seen and the one that always plays with my feelings.

That heart-string-and-nostalgia-tugging intro, though...
if you take time to watch the full series of Little King John, It really brings a realization of his struggle. He is conflicted from his entire kingdom being washed away like it was garbage. As he leaves his kingdom, no knowing when he will find land, he journals about his depression and uncertainty. The music along with his journey really make you feel down-hearted and sorry for this forgotten king. It may seem ridiculous at first glance, but once you give yourself to watching these videos, it feels... melancholy.
Just finished this series at 3 am after binge watching it today.

I find it interesting how LKJ and RBG learn each other's powers in the opposite ways. It looked like Ratboy Genius learned to stretch out in an offensive stance (attack fish) while John uses it in passive ways, like to focus (closer look at RBG and Baby in Dreams, when playing his organ, when assessing the generator) or to defend (dodging Caveman, reacting to Baby's insult). On the other hand, RBG uses teleportation passively (casually warps to meetings or out to space), while LKJ learned the skill while stressed and agitated (threatening Sneezy and in response to Caveman's dismissal of the life-or-death situation).
I love how RBG's characters aren't strictly good or evil, he keeps you guessing about who's the hero and who's the villain

I'm curious, do you think you'll ever find something a bit more stable than Minecraft to do the backgrounds with? I know how time consuming 3D modeling environments can be, so I understand the use of game footage for this, I'm just curious if you've found anything you might try using in future series?
Honestly without thinking I end up defending this as a style rather than a limitation or act of laziness. Ironically there is a lot of work that is done building in minecraft as you can see visually and the same amount of detail just wouldn't be possible in animation software without a big studio team or months of constant working.

Yeah, as a 3D artist who has also played an unholy amount of Minecraft I can certainly agree the amount of detail you can get for the time spent is pretty good. Actually 3D modeling environments takes ages.
The main thing that got me curious about if there are any other good sandbox games or easy ways to model were those scenes with the tornado, you can really tell his computer was suffering from all the mods and rain during that part.
He does the backgrounds himself in other videos. It's just that Little King John lives in Minecraft.
Your work and creativity seems to get better and better as time goes on, the flood is one of the greatest series I've ever seen of any kind of media, better than some of the biggest Hollywood classics.

Such a long buildup for a climactic event. An event which we know has already taken place, yet when we see it happen we still don't know the full implications of it, nor the fates of those involved. In this way, RBG reminds me a lot of Homestuck. A completely unique form of storytelling that could not exist anywhere else than on the internet, a story which teases the audience for years and years about events we know we'll never be able to fully understand.

Caterpillar Minister was avoidant when King John asked his questions. I'm going to speculate that some very serious stuff went down on Starship Genius, which we might see next episode. We know already that something messed the Galactic Superheroes up quite a lot, assuming the Happyman Opera was based on real events.
